"WHICH ONE HURT YOU THE MOST?"

"Which one hurt you the most, the red shirt or the badge?"

This was the question that was asked to me, by a senior official in the club, the day after I attended the first meeting, last May, of fans representatives regarding the re-branding.

My reply, after some thought, was "the badge".

"So you don't mind the red!" was the response back to me.

"No, I don't like the red, but that wasn't the question, you asked which one hurt me the most and it is the badge because you have taken the bluebird off the badge (remember when the new badge was first shown to us the bluebird was not on there), everything I identify with and relate to regarding Cardiff City FC is embodied in the bluebird and that has been taken away!".

Thankfully for small mercies the Bluebird was reintroduced.

So after a season of playing in red, the question I have is this :

If you could decide which of the two (Blue shirt or badge), which one would you pick to return?

Do not say both as the vast majority, if not all, of City fans would want them both but you are allowed to choose either the return to Blue shirts or our badge.

I would choose the badge myself, simply so I could wear leisurewear, away shirt, etc and see the badge with the prominent Bluebird on the front of the stadium and everywhere else.

Split on this but if one edged it then yeah the colour.

It's more prominent, and more visible to the watching world.

The badge I hate at the same time but out of the two it's the colour kit for me.

Our badge has changed before but never the colour

The Red Shirt for me Carl, to be honest Im getting so short sighted now, I cant even see the Badge

The red! As Cardiff City we've only ever played in Blue we have had plenty of changes in the badge. The badge has our national symbol and BLUEBIRD. The red home shirt was the most painful for me!

Very split myself on this myself, both really, but if really pushed BLUE Carl.
But I still hate the badge.

given the choice i would take the badge back any day of the week

We have had different badges over the years but our colour was always blue - so if there was a choice then it would be a blue shirt.

It doesn't feel right seeing us play in red and i hate all the red shirts and scarves i see in the stands

The badge is a constant on every shirt, home or away strips. It also gets used in other Cardiff related aspects, such as merchandising (car pennants, stickers, name plates, mugs, tankards etc etc), even tattoos.

Although I'm not happy with the red, the badge change has hurt me the most.

It's odd for me.

The red shirt by a mile for me. The badge can regularly be changed but the colour of our club can't.

That's easy for me and if we had a choice if the two a return to blue at home! Our badge has changed many times and the current badge has a bluebird (albeit small) and a welsh dragon, The colour is much more important to me!

However, I will continue to support Cardiff City Football Club despite the changes and live in hope that one day we will see our famous blue shirts run out for home games!

Most important for me was our debt being sorted, that's what made me reluctantly accept the "rebrand" and a year on we are still waiting!

The badge is not as bad as the red, even tho its so ugly its embarrassing. But weve had different badges over the years. The red is something else altogether...

Defo the badge (without the Bluebird) but I agree with those who believe the alternatives were pretty much never going to happen and the priority at that time was the very survival of our club itself

I will never buy a home shirt which is red and I will never buy any club merchandise with the current badge.
Based on your question above, unable to choose both the blue home shirt and traditional badge, I would go for the badge over the blue and would hope that either the away or third kit would be blue with our traditional badge. I would wear this to games in the hope that blue will return as our prominent colour in the future.
