The issue I had with Malky on MOTD was...

that by not saying no, there and then, it would make it a little more difficult to tie down potential transfer targets, at this critical time. After all if your a player being targeted by a manager, who is being linked to another club, then surely you would prefer to look at other options or at least delay any decision to join that club until you are 100% sure that manager is staying. Such hesitation could actually lose potential targets, that's why I think it was wrong the way Malky dealt with it.

I was a bit miffed as to why he didn't put the rumours to bed when I first seen it, but then realised most managers answer the same kind of way as he did. Its like there all programed to neither deny or except that a rumour is true or not lol it must be some kind of defence mechanism that all managers use to stop them putting their foot in it...and to keep their options open :malky:

This is exactly right. Malky is the ultimate professional and hence he gave a professional answer.
