"LIFE SENTENCE IF YOU KILL A COP OR PRISON GUARD!!!"

Compulsory life sentence for anybody who kills a policeman or a prison guard- I just don't get it!! Surely it should apply to anyone who is murdered regardless of their standing in society.We are all human beings and all equals in this world.I do feel for the police in this day and age.but this is a scandalous decision.!!

But we ain't talking about a cat up a tree, we were talking about a "burglary in progress" that was the call! Even if it was a real burglary in progress, then you'd have to assume the culprits were tooled up, and take every precaution, sending 2 female officers to a call like that was in my opinion a mistake.

Well for a start, there should have been more than 2 female officers answering that call! But like in any job in any walk of life you are going to get extreme cases where you can't avoid it! But in my opinion, when you're a police officer, you should have had enough training to minimise the risk... Especially when answering calls where there is certainly a good chance of getting injured. if there were male police officers at that call, would have more than likely got ontop of that fella before he went and executed atleast the one officer who he chased after and shot

on a more serious note-if a steward at the ccs keeps nagging you to sit down all game and you unfortunately kill him then that carries a maximum sentence of 20 hours community service and a 3 game ban!!

Unfortunately there is not a lot LEGAL about our "Legal System"!!

The overiding law of the land is "Common Law" which is very rarely adhered to by the judiciary as they are now part of the establishment.

So if they had been male they would of been able to stop bullets and grenades ? Hmmmmm yeah right

No, what I'm saying is, if they had sufficient backup with them at a call of that nature like they should've had, instead of 2 female officers casualy strolling up the garden path as if they were posting leaflets, then maybe they would have stood a better chance. Certainly the one female officer may have been saved that nearly got away. You look how many will turn up on a saturday night for a drunk taking a piss in a doorway! You can bet a van full of big burley pigs turn up with vasaline in tow all wanting to get involved. Yet you report a burglary and yor lucky if you see one of them plastic community beat bobbies turn up lol. For me, the ones calling the shots have to take a bit of responsibility over the deaths of them to officers for sending them to a call like that in the first place. It was uncalled for I know, and the fella that done it was bang out of order.. Not for going after the police, but for killing 2 females, and he should rightly be banged up for the rest of his life for that reason alone, and not just because they were police... Not that he probably gives a fuk about dying in prison anyway.. The fella was obviously beyond repair even before he done that.

So for every 999 call there should be how many officers attending? Two is perfectly acceptable considering they had no intelligence linking him with the address. The call claimed that someone had thrown a concrete slab through a window and run off. Why would you need more officers for that?

Are you suggesting they didn't have enough training? All officers are well-trained in 'minimising the risk' however this was completely unavoidable. Training has absolutely nothing to do with this tragedy. Male or female they would have been killed sadly.

What? He opened the front door and immediately shot both of them. As they were trying to take cover he emptied an entire round of 32 bullets in 31 seconds into them. How the hell could anyone 'get on top of that fella'?! They'd both been shot!

It's all well and good saying "If you kill someone, prison for life" - there are so many circumstances to acknowledge.

And by the way, the Police Control Centre issues out 'codes' to calls and the officers base their response times, types of response and whatnot off of these codes.

You wouldn't send a full van of PSU Officers to a call for vandalism where the culprit was no longer on scene. Nor would they send ARVs there for the call either. They'd send a bog standard of two PC's in the closest vicinity to take details and build from there.

If it had come through as the man had a gun, then quite simply ARVs would have been sent to the call and a large incident would have been made.

Risk is minimized by these codes and at the end of the day, a call is only as good as what the call centre staff receive. They're not psychic at all.
