You mentioned Chopra, Bothroyd and Burke in the article. Three players that were expected a lot more of who failed to rise to the occasion. Well that is what I and many others thought but just look at what these three main players have done since leaving. The answer is nothing absolutely nothing and it makes you wonder exactly what sort of squad we did have. I thought we had the best but now looking back I question that.

didnt bothroyd spend two seasons in the premier league after leaving? ok not playing many games, but still a step up regardless.

Burke has been one of Birminghams better players for the last two seasons more so last season when he got a stack of goals/assists and was player of the year. A player i think we could have done with last season especially.

Bothroyd only real contribution in the last 2 seasons is a loan move to a Championship side of which was not that much use.

Burke had a good first season at Birmingham but fell away last season by becoming a replacement more than a first team player for a side that basically struggled all season.

a side that struggles all season can still have good players, i would have loved to have kept hold of burke.

I'd use Jordan Rhodes as a perfect example of that. 24 goals in a poor Blackburn team
