And a very important game.

If they had stayed up,prob would of brought 200 to Cardiff next season.

Their support is shocking, always has been, i'm afraid the football gods have called time on them, i can't see them being back in the premier league for a long, long time, it's a shame for their owner (whelans) he seems a decent bloke.

As you well know Annis we took up and sold out the full away allocation for Arsenal both this season and last. But you didnt post any pictures of that did you? ;)

Maybe in the interest of fairness you should? Just to compare the Welsh and English Wigans of course!

Have you got to turn every thread into a defensive action of Swansea?

Paranoid and obsessed.

To be fair to them, they are always up against it because of their geographical location, in relation to other top clubs.
Besides that, that support is only a few days after a Wembley trip. (not cheap) And then to go to the very expensive Emerites straight after.
Well done to all who attended. Those that are in the picture, will still be supporting their club for many years to come, no matter where they are in the league.

I think Annis has just discovered Football Awaydays on Twitter. It's genius for anyone not familiar with it. Fans Tweet pics of the away support at various games. More interesting than it sounds!

I'm surprised the likes of Wigan have survived for so long with their support in the premier.

Since the arrival of the premier league I've been expecting the division to be occupied by the top 20 best supported teams. Its not quite worked out that way. It makes you wonder if support is all that important these days to survive.

Wigan are a shit club; not a proper football club and I for one am glad they've finally been relegated!

To be fair they just spent a fortune on going to Wembley, with no trains after the Cup final, they may have had to stay overnight in London. Arsenal is known for being the most expensive so I doubt many could afford it.

In defence of Wigan they have a population of 80,000 people, around the size of the Cynon Valley they share their area with a successful Rugby League team and are within twenty minutes of many to Premier teams with a longer established history.

I genuinely feel sorry for them, they have punched above their weight for years and mostly due to the support of one good man. :(

They are a tiny town with small average attendances. I would imagine that there would have been a few hundred more there had they not just had a trip to Wembley 3 days before.

Totally agree with this, they arent even the biggest team in Wigan FFS. I feel sorry for most clubs that get relegated, but if I had to make a choice who went down , it would have been Wigan. Only, because I believe that the Premiership should be made up of the best supported clubs available. That goes against us at this moment in time as there are plenty of clubs in the Championship who get bigger crowds than us. However, give us a year or two there and grow the capacity and we can rightfully claim our place as a top 20 best supported club. :ayatollah:
