Malky to Everton, Martinez here at city.... Would we feel happier than you do now?

Not sure, Martinez is a good manager, just not sure he'd fit in here

i worry about martinez ability to manage a good premier league defense, his record in the transfer market is good, they have had some very good options at wigan over the years, but nearly all of them attacking. Gary Caldwell is not premier league standard imo.

also, martinez wont come to us, hasnt he rejected villa and liverpool in the last few seasons?

Doesn't rejecting Villa and Liverpool just show he isn't a basket case? What would Martinez do with £25 million? Safety of Mid table?

it shows he wanted to stay at wigan....

he has had money to spend at wigan, and hasnt really improved them year on year. Keeping them up, which is great for a club like them, but they are always one of the favorites to go down and he hasnt taken them on at all.

what money has he spent?

Maloney would now walk into almost any premiership side. Cost? - £1m

McManaman, new to the first team and a future England star. cost?- Free

Alcaraz, a superb, quality defender who dominated the back in the final. Cost? - free

Espinoza, who ran Man City ragged down the left. Cost? - Free

The total cost of the Wigan side that deservedly beat Man City in the FA cup final was around £8 million, compared to Man City's £200 million. So, in Premier League terms Martinez has spent pennies, and is without doubt one of the best managers in the league.

maloney into almost any premier league side?

he spend 5.3m on koumas for a start.

this season, kone cost 2.7m and ramis 5m.

al habsi cost 4m . boselli cost 6.5m and marlon king cost 4/5m depending on where you read.

nzogbia cost 6m, kapo 3.5m

anyway, as you can see from the above, he has made some good signings, and he hasnt had an embarrasment of riches, but lets not pretend he hasnt had any money.

the previous poster who mentions 1 youth player coming though as an example?!? come on, how long has he been there and how many wigan youth players have made the step up to the first team? that would give you a better indication of the structure of the youth team.
