Do we go for a manager like Hughes,Di Matteo who have managed in the premier or someone like Poyet or Zola, or gamble on an up and coming manager like Powell who got Charlton promoted from league one then had a very good first season in Championship and seems to be building Charlton as a club with successful junior sides too?

Darren Ferguson or Chris Powell

Let's just hope he stays to finish the job he has started. If he is going then he should come out and say so we can find someone now not later. It has got to be getting him thinking but he is an honest and stright guy so as soon as he knows I think he will tell the fans..

Darren ferguson, deffo a Good shout, worked wonders at peterborough with hardly any funds. Could see him doing a good job with a few quid to spend in the transfer market

Martinez for me. Has performed miracles to keep Wigan in the Premier League in recent years, with penuts to spend on improving his squad. His teams also play a great brand of football.
Unfortunately I can't see the situation be sorted soon however, because Kenwright said yesterday that they won't look at appointing a new manager until the season is over.

Di Matteo would be great, but im banking on malky to stay

Good as Martinez wouldn't leave any time soon anyway. He'll want to see Wigan's outcome first. Wigan stay up and Everton offer him the job it could go either way. Wigan go down and Everton offer him the job he'll probably go. Wigan go down and Malky goes to Everton then we have a chance of getting him. If people want Martinez here then they should really hope Wigan go down.

Di Matteo is the new Alan Curbishley, linked with every available job going. He won't come here as it'll tarnish his reputation if he sends us down, he'll get another top job in Europe.

Mark Hughes
Mon May 13, 2013 11:12 am
Rafa Benitez

Poyet is the only realistic one I can think of that I'd want. Wouldn't say it's an improvement tho.

Time for a slating.........
If he amicably leaves Stoke, Tony Pulis.
Mark Hughes would be a great shout, but even with his previous disaster would be pricey.

Di Matteo, first choice. If not then I'd go for Poyet or Freedman.
But stop with the negativity! Malky isn't going anywhere!

Dougie Freedman, Gus Poyet or Roberto Di Matteo
