I'm assuming they would be of good quality
What positions would you want? Do we need?
Sun May 12, 2013 10:55 pm
CB, RB, LB, Target man and a midfielder than can play on the wing and centrally.
Sun May 12, 2013 10:56 pm
Assuming he means first team players if say
RB
CB
CM
Winger
ST
Also a goalkeeper as back up.

iF MM stays we will defo get a CB - Who will be here by the end of June
Mon May 13, 2013 11:28 am
RB, CB, LB, MIDFIELD ENFORCER AND A GOAL SCORER
Mon May 13, 2013 12:09 pm
If we are looking to bring in 5 players then we can't afford to release many players. We'd need 5 QUALITY players if we want to stay up.
Mon May 13, 2013 12:12 pm
IMO
RB
Cb
1winger tht can play either side
An attacking CM
A big Target man that can also score a fair few goals
If we can get these we will stay up

Leon Barnett?
Mon May 13, 2013 1:19 pm
GK (back up)
RB - That Argentinian
CB - Barnett
LB - Rose?
Striker - Bent? Someone like him
Not sure if we need Anymore in the Midfield
Gunnarson, Mutch, Whitts, Kimbo, can all play in the middle
Mon May 13, 2013 1:52 pm
CB
RB
LB
Target man
Winger
No need for a new backup goalie in Joe Lewis we have a very good keeper who quite frankly i'm surprised is happy siting as Marshy's back up. IMO he could easily be a #1 championship keeper.
Target man to replace Heidar. Perfect option would be Carroll but he's way out of our price range. A more viable alternative Carlton Cole maybe?
Winger i'd go for Ince (again maybe a bit optimistic there) or Johnny Williams maybe.
RB and LB wouldnt mind seeing Trippier from Burnley, he's decent.

Im not so sure, I really think we need 3 decent keepers. my gut instinct says Lewis isnt good enough, he hasnt played much for us but hasnt impressed in his couple of games he has played in.
God forbid but imagine Marshall had a bad injury pre-season, as a premiership club could we last until January with Lewis and Parish as our only keepers? that would be a huge concern for me.

Strength through the middle, 2 new centre halves 1 new centre mid, 1 centre forward and a fullback. Whitts to be pushed wide for me, not quick enough or hard working enough in the middle for the prem. him and Bellers out wide.

not quick enough for the middle in the prem so you want him to play out wide?

And as I've had time to think these could be possible ayers to sign in these positions and who I want us to sign
RB- the Argentinian we've apparently been scouting other option could be figeroua
Cb- Barnett other options Wes Morgan think he's class or maybe hangeland
Winger- Redmond think he's class and think he will prove to be better than both Zaha and Ince in the future other option could be Kebe maybe a loan for Townsend
Attacking midfielder- nick Powell on loan maybe Honda even though it seems very unlikely but someone did link us with him

another option could possible be Willams from pallarse
Target man would live Bony but probably very unrealistic other options could be Austin think he's class or maybe even Rhodes we have been linked to Jones a lot so he is a possibility but I would prefer one of the 3 I have mentioned
As always just MY OPINION

he would be our beckham, slow, but can cross, pass and pass. he would have to be a player you know won't track back, but if you're slow in centre mid in the prem you are usless, gareth barry is a huge example of this.

Figueroa is not from argentina mate, Honduras
Mon May 13, 2013 9:31 pm
I don't think Whitts is good enough wide in the prem.
We will end up defending a lot obviously so we need players with pace out wide. I think Conway, Noone and Whitts lack what's need wide.

Reading more paper talk this morning, apparantly qpr are looking to bring in Scott Parker who's available from spurs.... Would anyone think they would like to see us make a move for him???

I dont think Whitts is quick enough full stop, but i do think that hes our best passer and crosser of a ball, and out wide you get 1 or 2 more seconds on the ball than you do in the championship. and unless we keep the ball alot better than we do now we will get hurt big time. I agree about conway, and im not sure about Noone, think he could go either way and end the season a starter or be bombed in jan.

I personally think hes a bit overrated even in his prime, the wages would be big, and see him as a 'homer' and not leaving london now.
Although how he only has 18 international caps and gareth barry has 53 is astonishing. Both players need to thank their international careers to Owen hargreaves massively for his injuries!

The release of Parish means a keeper will now become one of the priorities
Thu May 16, 2013 7:33 pm
4-5?? we'll sign at least 7-8.

Agreed.
I think we'll need more than the 4-5 stated in the OP.

Leon Barnett?

Top priority LB, RB, CB (will be Barnett), CF. Then back up GK and prob a wide man. I think Malky will also then hold some in reserve for January.
