I think I want Watford to do it. They were one of the three clubs that pulled away and, on a slightly nasty side, I don't think they will do much in the Prem, especially if they will have to go and beg to the FA every time they want to buy someone. Or does that embargo only stand in the FL.

I still thibnk the loan system needs to be amended to stop the likes of Watford borrowing an entire team but credit where its due they played well.

Of the drama of the last few weeks (championship final day, brentford/donny, brentford/Swindon) this has topped the lot

Can't see that happening. The owner will simply sell his Udinese players to Watford as financially he will make a lot more money in the Premiership than he will in Italy

Thought Leicester would get through after their impressive win at Forest but it wasn't to be.
Watford have found loop holes within the rules with their team which doesn't sit right with me.
I hope Brighton take the final spot.

The situation with Watford is that the Football League have changed the rules so that this situation can't happen again next season.

So what happens for Watford next season? If they get promoted they will only have 14 players they could register out of the current squad. Quite a few of those players will not be up to Prem standard (say 4/5) so they may be looking at bringing in another 15 players potentially. I know they have asked the Premier League for a special dispensation but I am pretty certain the answer will be a big fat NO for 2 reasons. Firstly Watford already knew the Premier League rules would affect the players they had on loan and secondly the Premier League would not want to be seen to be breaking their own rules in EUFA's and FA's eyes.

The same situation will arise next season if they stay in the Championship. The only way around it is to sign the players permanently. Then you are into the realms of ownership. It could end up like a Tevez/Mascherano situation and if there are any dodgy dealings the club could end up being fined. I'm sure that both the Premier League and Football League will be monitoring this closely.

Pleased for Watford. Whatever we might think about the loan system, they were the third best side in the Championship. Decent, friendly club, too. Just shows how valuable that 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road was on the Saturday after Easter
