OPINIONS PLEASE

Sun May 12, 2013 12:31 pm

Not football related but I'm having a new boiler fitted soon but not too sure which one to get,
Worcester seem to be the Rolls Royce of boilers but are very expensive,Baxi have a good name and are not so expensive and have a 5/7yr warranty on some models, any useful advice would be greatly appreciated

Baxi are a good non expensive boiler. Keep away from Ferrolli, the new boilers tend to leak a lot.

I've had a Worcester Bosch boiler for about 15 years, running 14 rads off it and never had a problem!

I can't comment on other boiler makes, but as far as I'm concerned, mine's the dog's bollocks!

I've got a Main 30 HE. They also do a 24HE depends how big your house is. I got 4 bedrooms, bathroom, ensuite and downstairs toilet. Cheaper than a Baxi yet built by and all parts are Baxi Potterton. It even says Baxi on the sticker inside. Agree with previous post do not buy a ferrolli.

All have pros and cons, for an average house with 1 shower/bath a 28 kw worcester junior is fine, not much more money than a 28kw baxi neta heat if any, having said that I've fitted many budget boilers for people with less money, and the key is make sure the system is cleaned properly before fitting and you shouldn't have too many problems.

I had a Main in my last place and i had no probs with it,i've got a bigger house now,the boiler is in basement and shower is on 3rd floor, needing at least a 40kw,baxi seem to be the best priced at the mo

One of the most important things to check is your incoming watermain, check the pressure is at least 1.5 bar and if its a old lead main you need to upgrade it
