Empty seats at Watford

Pretty poor showing for a Play Off Semi Final second leg, Vicarage Road only holds just under 20,000, how can they not sell that out ?

I thought that, loads of empty seats. The commentator said one stand was condemned, were there restrictions in the stand adjacent to it? What was the final attendance? I would've thought they'd sell out the maximum available?

They had a lot more against Leeds didn't they? They should sell out a game like that

Aye thats true their one stand is closed however the empty seats were in the other stands!! WIth the one stand running the lenth of the pitch being closed thus reducing their capacity down its shocking to see spaces at the rest of the ground for such an important game!!

Yep, failing to sell out a home play off semi final game is appalling :thumbright:

I can't defend the people that didn't turn up against West Ham, but Vicarage Road doesn't even hold 20,000 you bellend, that's ridiculous, on top of that don't start with attendances because up until you gained promotion your attendances were just as, if not worst than Watford's.

We struggled in our play offs to sell out and remember Watford s a village compared to us and our population and catchment area. Also after failing on the last day of the season, your fans are down, imagine ours. Also Watford have always been a small club.

Providing how the game was set up with them being 1-0 down from the first leg, I thought it was pretty poor, but I just checked their support whilst they were in the premier league and they averaged below 20,000 that season, find it incredible.

Stones, glasshouses. Chelsea away for your 'major trophy' semi-final clash ring any bells?

Although there were probably more of you on this forum than at Stamford bridge that night

Mate the season they got promoted they were getting attendances as low as 13/14,000.

And yet we still got promoted. Turns out that attendances have absolutely nothing to do with the actual game of football.

Who'd have thought it :laughing6:

You obviously failed to sense the irony in my post

Not selling out at home to West Ham proved how educated our stay away fans were. The squad were out on their feet weeks before that and the majority knew we had no chance of beating West Ham at the time

There'll be a full house for them next season. That's all that matters
