Carl Curtis: ' The Malky Situation/The Rebrand/Champions '

Sat May 11, 2013 4:31 am

Walesonline columnist Carl Curtis has his say on our season as well as the Malky situation

From day one, when the plans were first announced, I never wanted to see the Bluebirds wear red as our primary colour.

Nor do I want the Bluebird relegated to an after-thought on the club badge – but we had a problem. Tan had the investment to help the club, firstly survive and hopefully prosper, and, we as fans, had a choice.

Great read Carl really sums things up perfectly. :ayatollah:

For those wanting a statement from Malkay remember this

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/foot ... rs-2050683

The only statement worth believing is the one that names Evertons new manager, then we may need to worry if thier new manager leaves a vacancy and will MM be linked to that.

When you have a young manager whose stock has risen this sort of thing happens whenever the managerial roundabout starts spinning.

Great article as usual, Carl :ayatollah:

Much to chew on and every bit of your article was both 'considered' and 'balanced'

There was one piece that caught my attention more than others:

Quote (from Carl's article): "Personally, I could not believe what I had witnessed at the stadium that night. I accepted fans were putting the colour change to one side, but I never expected to see so many taking the scarf and wearing it with pride"

I have been saying that for months (it was like feeding time in the Zoo) and that is the very reason I stated that the vast majority had (no matter how reluctantly) 'accepted' the red from that night on. Obviously there are still those who are vehemently against and (in an ideal world) I would be one of them but the simple facts are stated elsewhere in Carl's article....very clearly ;) :ayatollah:

I have to say its great we got promotion it really is but its been so tarnished for me I never enjoyed it the way I should have because of the rebrand .

I will always support city but I would say 50 % of my love pride and passion has been lost along with the blue kit and badge and as a result I dont like VT one bit .

Still angry about it and it will never get better.

Nobody is bigger than any club and its about time Tan was made aware of that .

No other club would want to change there club colours but we have and I find it very insulting.

Like carl said if he had left it alone Tan would be everybody's hero including mine but that will never happen with me I detest the man for what he has done to my team.

Quote (from brickyblue) "Nobody is bigger than any club..."

Mate, I understand your frustrations BUT sometimes the above statement you made includes the supporters; particularly when we are not in a position to put into the club in the financial way that is required to make it successful

Vincent Tan has come in, he's 'put up' and he's (ultimately) delivered what many thought to be either impossible or a mere pipe dream just a couple of short seasons ago

Red/Blue thing apart, Vincent Tan has turned our club around and I'd rather he did it here than somewhere else (and I use Spurs as a great example after they turned away Abraovic before he bought out Chelsea) :ayatollah:
