Krav Maga is brutal
Supposed to be self defence but teaches you to pre-emtively strike opponents
Teaches students to finish fights early by attacking the weakest parts of opponents body's like the eyes ?
Teaches you to look at your surroundings and identify weapons that could be useful to help neutralise your opponent

I'd never let my kid go to these classes they should be taught to walk away and avoid confrontation first and foremost not look for weapons and attack weak spots that could ruin someone's life !
If they can't walk away teach them holds to neutralise a attacker not hurt them .

O shut up you old fart. If your son was surrounded by 5 blocks and learning this saved his life what would you say then? It clearly states on the website that you are taught to only use in extreme cases etc. When my boy is old enough he will be going thats for sure, its full of cunts out there and only getting worse. Look out for number 1!

No problem with protecting yourself but attacking eyes and kicking in the nuts is a bit dirty and I don't want my boy growing up learning to fight like that . It also teaches you to stand up against somebody with a gun or knife and try to disarm them
f**k that I'd rather my boy safe to live another day thanks not laying in a hospital bed with a knife in his chest !
My boy will be going to boxing or karate that teaches self discipline and will enable him to defend himself confidently without the need to resort to dirty tactics or weapons
What good would it be against 5 blokes anyway ? Doesn't matter what training you have eventually you will go down !
It's good but only if your physically strong , what good are the techniques if your of small build and don't have the power to use them properly Against an opponent ?
This style was developed primarily for military who are all strong and can utilise it to its full effect .

Ye thats fair enough, still though sometimes now days you got to fight dirty its not like when things were just fists and it was left at 1 on 1. I dread to think what this place will be like in 10-20 years time

thomasblue , Yes it is brutal BUT it's real life. Sometimes talking to the aggressor isn't enough ,after you've handed over your wallet what then ? The aggressor may just want to stab, shoot or punch you.

This world we live in is unforgiving mate ,if someone puts a knife against my throat I'd rather know what to do than maybe lose your life :malky:

True I'm not trying to discredit it I think anything that teaches kids to protect themselves is a good thing
My slight problem with it is that it teaches to allways hold your ground true ?
What if the attacker or attackers are much bigger or stronger and you ? Like I said it was primarily designed for strong people not children mainly army .

Also it teaches to hit whilst there on the floor ?
Look at this video every time he gets someone down he finishes them off ?
http://youtu.be/Vr-7VKXqEXY
Stamp on the head
Even with the weapons
The kids will end up in prison for using deadly weapons or murder
http://youtu.be/jKNXf0oQeVA
It's a dangerous skill and not many will master it , the others will end up hurt or dead IMO

The difference with our club is we would never kick someone in the head because there is a chance that you will kill them ,then you will be done for manslaughter or murder. We also teach how to talk to your attacker ,if they ask for your phone or cash we always say give it to them.

But some people that will not be enough and they will attack you whatever you give them, a lot of the knife attacks we defend against is kick to the groin and run ,Brutal ? Well if some clown puts a knife in front of you that's what they will deserve and get.

Come and try it , first lesson is free .If you don't like it no problem :malky:

The brutal part I meant is shown in the videos with the turning of the knife And stabbing to finish off your attacker , aswel as the kicking to the head whilst down i dont like that although that looks like mainly Eastern Europeans way of teaching it . I actually didnt realise there were different forms I thought it was a art as a whole , but looking at it closer there is different styles and extremes which does interest me to be fair .
It has a bad name for being a bit uummmm aggressive if that's the right word but a lot of the British videos actually look quite skilful .
Amazing how you get a perception of something through looking at the wrong things when they actually might be decent .
Do you teach to not use the weapons once you've disarmed the assailant ?
Only to temporarily disable them to be able to get away ?

We teach to disarm a knife attack ,unless it was a case of kill or be killed . Same as a gun or stick attack once you disarm them hopefully they will run away ,well I would anyway if a gun was pointed at me.

The first lesson in Troedyrhiw ,2 lads turned up in their early 20's and they couldn't believe it when we were telling them about not to kick in the head as it could be fatal.

You see now there is a huge difference in your videos compared to most of the you tube ones .
You neutralise the attacker and get rid of the weapon rather than turn it and use it yourself like most of the others .
The force whilst there down is when you are grappling rather than when standing over them which is also the right way. Other teaching videos use a forceful stamp to the head from a standing position which is what I hated .
Fair play yours looks a lot more disciplined . It shows you. Have morals where you don't turn on the attacker to majorly hurt them just neutralise without risking life . That's how it should be :ayatollah:
And you filmed one in the village pub

I did Krav for a while and is brutal but is about defensive techniques and safe exits.

Like any training its down to the person how used out of class.
