Peter Odemwingie

Fri May 10, 2013 3:34 pm

Peter Odemwingie says he's 90% sure leaving West Brom in the summer would be the right decision for his career.

He's also said that money isn't an issue for him as he took an insane wage cut in order to sign at The Hawthorns, and that it didn't motivate his attempt to sign for QPR.

30 league goals in 80 for West Brom. Could he be a possibility for Malky, or am I way off?

Hull City manager Steve Bruce is ready to make move for Peter Odemwingie
Hull City manager Steve Bruce is ready to move for West Bromwich Albion forward Peter Odemwingie, but Steve Clarke insists he will not be sold on the cheap.
Bruce is targeting outcast Odemwingie for a move to the KC Stadium this summer and is preparing an offer for the Nigerian international who can leave the Hawthorns.

Albion are keen to offload the 31 year-old after a string of rows this year, which included his highly-publicised attempts to force a January move to Queens Park Rangers.

Odemwingie has one year left on his £36,000 a week contract but Albion will not allow him to leave for less than £3 million.

Clarke, the West Bromwich Albion head coach, said: "Whoever wants him has to pay the market value. We're not a charity.

"I think his goalscoring record for West Brom is something like one in three. He can leave but only for a price that we believe to be acceptable."

The final straw: West Brom will sell Peter Odemwingie after latest outburst -

Peter Odemwingie will be sold by West Brom after being omitted yesterday for blasting team-mates AGAIN.

MirrorSport understands the striker added to his unpopularity at Albion by moaning in the dressing room after the 4-0 defeat to Norwich.

The Baggies held an inquest after the loss and outspoken Odemwingie,31, is understood to have slammed his team-mates.

He was omitted from WBA's squad yesterday (Sunday) for their final game against Manchester United.

Hull are interested but Albion are still holding out over £3million.

Boss Steve Clarke said: "It is not a charity."

I have been told by my friend in uni who is a WBA fan that hes always out in casinos and loves the high life and has a terrible ego so no thanks. He probably wanted to go to QPR to be in London in the mix of everything so he could be mr big man. Also rumours his marriage is on the rocks and stuff. Would be too much of a risk.

Another club interested in Odenmwingie -

Premier League-bound Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway wants to tie up a quick deal for Real Madrid striker Javier Acuna - and the Londoners have also set their sights on signing Peter Odemwingie.

Holloway has been chasing Paraguayan hitman Acuna, who is playing on loan at second division Girona as he nears the end of his contract with the Spanish giants.

Palace are moving fast to beat off interest from Championship sides Middlesbrough and Bolton in a 24-year-old in the mould of Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

The Eagles, who secured their £120million return to the top flight by beating Watford in Monday's play-off final, are desperately short of attacking options as they look ahead to next season.

Wilfried Zaha is now a Manchester United player, although he ended the season on loan back at Palace, top scorer Glenn Murray is out until Christmas with a knee injury and Wembley match-winner Kevin Phillips, who was on loan from Blackpool, will be 40 when next season starts.

Holloway was linked with Odemwingie in January, but the Nigerian did not to want to drop out of the Premier League.

Instead, the 31-year-old farcically attempted to force a move to Queens Park Rangers, which damaged his reputation with boss Steve Clarke and fans beyond repair.

He never started for the Baggies again.

Hull are another side keeping tabs on Odemwingie following their own promotion from the Championship.

Palace will also tie up a deal for attacking midfielder Stephen Dobbie, who joined them on loan from arch-rivals Brighton but is now to sign permanently.

Dobbie missed the play-off final but has impressed Holloway during his spell at Palace - and was previously under his wing at Blackpool.

he's a proven PL striker, attitude seems to be in line with most other PL footballers.

you need players who have real quality, and i'd take a look at him if i was malky. you wont do any better than 15th if you have 11 hard working, technically average players in the PL.
