How many mangers have you seen appointed in your time?

All this speculation around Malky having talks with Everton got me thinking how many managers I have seen appointed since I've been supporting the club in 1968? I believe its 22 if you include Lew Clayton for a week back in 1973, and 4 managers being given the job twice, and Kenny Hibbit given the post 3 times that’s a total of 28 appointments if my memory serves me right? How many have you seen?

During that time think I’ve suffered 7 relegations, and 8 promotions;

Several favourites there for me Scoular, Andrews, Ashurst, also didn’t mind Frankie Burrows, Eddie May, and for quality of Football played had to be Lennie Lawerence and Dave Jones. Hard pushed to pick a favourite out of that lot but I think Malky Mackay has all the ingredients to top the lot. Even if he doesn't choose to go to Everton which is a very stable attractive job, I think we will lose him in the future any way once he has completed his apprenticeship. I hope we hang on to him for a couple of seasons because he builds clubs from top to bottom to many managers just concentrate wholly on the first team at the detriment to the structure of the club. He has certainly left our reserve, development, and school of excellence teams in better shape than he found them that’s for sure!

only dave jones and malky i had only been into football a year or so before jones took over and started watching cardiff properly in dave jones first year

15 for me starting with Eddie May's first spell in charge.

Ive watched from the end of eddies first spell, but wouldnt have known who he was or if he had even been sacked as a 10 year old, he was just a manager of the club.. internet has made it alot easier for kids to know whats going on and follow the game without being there

Trevor Morrris is the first manager I can remember, then Bill Jones and George Swindin.

Jimmy Andrews is the first manager I can recall, has a trophy shop in Canton I think.

Whilst I'm talking to my self Steve Grapes once presented me with player of the year for Fairwater boys, not a manager I know, but who managed him would it have been Morgan?

19 for me, and as much as Eddie May will always be in my heart, Malky is the most professional and probably the best I've seen so far.

May I see another 19, but not in the next 5 years!

Billy Mc Candless was my first manager, see you put Lew Clayton but he was only in charge a couple of days, left before any game was played

Saw my first City game when Jimmy Scoular was manager. My all time favourites would be Jimmy Andrews and Frank Burrows. Would be very disappointed if Malky left for Everton, but feel, somehow, that the job has come a year too soon for him.
