" MALKY TO EVERTON SPECULATION "

Fri May 10, 2013 1:00 pm

We know that Malky has been approached by Everton but how would you feel if Malky took an interview but didn't get the job?

I would like to see Malky come out and turn down the opportunity and send out a mesage to us City fans that he is committed to the cause.

If he decides to leave for Everton then I would not hold it against him but if he takes the interview then I think we need to act accordingly.

If it comes out later today that Malky is in talks with Everton then it doesn't automatically mean he has had an interview, it could easily be the man meeting Everton to turn them down politely.

Neil Lennon is as strongly linked to the Everton job as Malky and Everton wish to interview both managers.

Don't Everton need permission from us to talk to our manager? :old:

I'd be bitterly dissappointed but I would understand his reasons and not feel any malice towards him. If he did leave I think we'd have no shortage of applicants for his job here and we could attract someone equal to Malky or better. An official statement wouldn't go a miss at the moment just to calm everybody down.

If Everton knock on the door MM would be a fool not to at least talk to them and I for one wouldn't blame him.

If Lennon gets the Everton job then I think we will have a bigger problem because Celtic will, in my opinion, come after MM and he will go in a heartbeat.

If he does go it will beg the question "Who at our club could be trusted to get the right replacement".

Very worrying times in my opinion.

It's a great opportunity for him, gives him a chance to experience European football. I'll be gutted though really, especially after everything he's done this season.

If he goes then we just get someone else and thank him for getting us up which is what we all wanted.
Theres gonna be plenty who will want the job ,prem club, great facilties, good backer etc ,agree with you Carl with if hes not going then turn them down and say hes happy to stay otherwise if he chooses to go then lets sort our house out as well ready for the new season.I dont think he'll go though.

He wasn't born in Cardiff, he never played for us and he's not even Welsh. I wouldn't blame him for going for the interview. He wants to maximise his career. I think it would be a bad move for him because I don't think he would be given the money to bring in the players he would want but then again he might be able to work with the players they currently have.

If he went for the job I'd wish him all the best. If he stayed, great. If he went, we move on. That's football. I'm just grateful for what he's done for us. Not just how we've performed but the integrity and ethics he's introduced to the club. :ayatollah:

Hardly surprising. I think its a done deal personally. Hes done a cracking job here but he'd be foolish to turn down the Everton job. Malky vs Brenda next year in the Merseyside Derby will be interesting.

I believe there is very little loyalty in football,I understand that a managers & players Loyalty has to be with them self & family.
But one also has to be loyal to his club too, or there will always be a question mark about loyalty that may follow him around from club to club. I believe that if you start a job & ask the fans to support you , and they do, that you also have a certain responsibility to that club and the fans. I just hope that Malky has the loyalty that the fans gave to him, when he ask for it.
I believe his contract with us is till 2016 I would like to think he would stay and see us through our first year in the prem
at least. :malky:

If Malky does go then surely he will want to take Moody , Kerslake and Co with him , Would Everton be happy with that?

Re: " MALKY TO EVERTON "

Fri May 10, 2013 1:20 pm

If Everton are indeed a 'big club' then they should be setting their sights higher than Malky in my opinion.

I think MM will be tempted but stay put.

This could serve as a wake up call to our club to put things in place for when/if he does move on.

Everton fans dont want him. Stay where you are loved and adored.

There was even a fan who wanted to engage in gay activities with Malky after promotion. If thats not a display of love I dont know what is.

Would be sad to see him go considering what he has built over the last 2 years. I don't see it anyway.

Officially Everton need permission, but lets not be naive enough to think that tapping up doesn't exist. If it wasn't for illegal approaches and secret meetings nothing would get done

Half the country knew two years ago that David Moyes would be the next United manager. These things are discussed behind closed doors all the time

Totally agree, Malky kept on about sticking together during the rebrand and getting behind the team. He needs to stay with us at least a season in the prem but then again Everton is a big step up from us

2/1 is William hill while Ladbrokes are offering 7/1

Re: " MALKY TO EVERTON "

If he makes contact, he should go. He's clearly not committed. Ferguson would be my pick.

Flabbergasted though. there are better and more experienced managers available.

Crazy for Malky too, been heavily backed in all capacity and to think about throwing it in is crazy.

Re: " MALKY TO EVERTON "

Odds 5 minutes ago

Neil Lennon 6/4
Malky Mackay 3/1
Roberto Martinez 7/2
Phil Neville 14/1
Michael laudrup 20/1
Dougie freedman 25/1

As we all know Malky loved/loves Watford but that didn't stop him talking to us and joining us did it?
