My biggest concern with hanging onto Malky

Fri May 10, 2013 11:19 am

would be if Lennon leaves Celtic to join Everton, surely Malky would find it almost impossible not to take the opportunity to manage the club he's played for, loves and supports. He would also be onto a sure winner, he would undoubtedly win leagues, cups and maybe even get them into the last 4 of the Champions League. So, success is guaranteed which would keep his stock high and enable him to manage in the Premier further along, maybe to bigger clubs than Everton.

Very good point but I can't see Celtic paying the 3 million compensation. But you never know I would be very disappointed in Malkie given the support he has had from our owner.

Presumably Everton would have to pay Celtic compensation for Lennon so I don't think that would be an issue. Lennon won't be going to Everton anyway...

We he's favourite with the bookies at the moment, they don't get too much wrong

Only just, Malky's now 2/1 with William Hill's and shortening with the other bookies all the time

Hopefully Everton go for Martinez anyway and Lennon stays put. If I were Kenwright I would take Martinez over Malky, he has more experience and I believe he has a clause in his contract that he can move on for nothing if Wigan are relegated, so he saves the club £3 million.

Successful in Scotland, is about as much use as being successful on football management games, when looking for future jobs in the PL. Look at past successful Scottish club managers - Walter Smith, Strachan, O'Neill, Mowbray, none have done much since moving South.

Malky will be better staying in Cardiff and building a reputation than in Glasgow.
