Carl you mentioned that at the end of season you'd tell us what you'd heard on him ...so seeing as it is the end can we please know now,he must be in malkys plans somewhere or he wouldnt have been in the last few squads and actually get on the pitch !

The story I heard was that Velikonja, like Earnie, was not a Malky signing.

Apparently Velikonja was recommended to Vincent Tan by Mourhino and that is why we signed him.

I thought malky signed him,i guess it was done before he got here .Not to keen on malky not given players a chance just because there not his signings ,unless you try them we are never gonna find out,hes done well with the development team and ive heard has a good attitude ,looks like lost money on him then,worrying thing is malky thinks and favours rudy which is shocking.

its probably more the fact that if he makes his point now that he wont use players that are not his choice it nips it in the bud before it gets worse? im not sure

thanks carl...still pisses me off when a manager has players that he wont use cos he didnt sign them,why let a player waste his time here ,def not fair on velinkonja so may as well let him go play somehwere BUT if tan pretty much signed him on word then how come he hasnt told malky to play him.

I think overall he improved as a player and worked on his weakness, his heading in front of goal showed against Forest when the ball was played in.

agree with a few posts on here ,nothing at you carl as of what u heard ,but things dont add up on it ,the guy scores goals was talked about by malky and has had european experience before he came to us and then malky says we need to beef him up for the championship,come on that doesnt take a season,weird one this ,ah well.

He's impressed me in the second half of the season.

Just for the above mourinho personally does not scout players, he will have scouts everwhere. Im guessing the scout that told him about eti didnt think he was good enough for a top team but a decent player hence mourinho knowing him, they do scout every corner of the world so they dont miss a trick

Not really fair that, he didn't sign the ten or so players he was left with when he joined but played many of them. It could just be the case that both Earnie and Velikonja were left on the sidelines simply because they weren't the type of football player Malky wants in his team and he felt he had better options. He didn't waste Earnie's time as he made it clear to him that he wasn't required but Earnie didn;t want to go and Velikonja came for a hefty fee and if he was brought in by Tan then he probably felt obliged to give him a chance. Whilst he has done well in the reserves, he hasn't looked up to it on the few chances he was given in the first team and quite possibly this was evident to Malky on the training pitch
