McPhail a coach?

I wonder if he's undergoing any qualifications, surely he is going to retire. Deserves some sort of role at the club

Back pass specialist?
How to play with one leg?
Bottling opportunities and how to play a major part in them?

Very unfair on him.

I think he was excellent for us.

I hear a space at Old Trafford awaits young McPhail.

Agreed. I think we outgrew him to be honest, but he was awesome in the earlier years. I'm glad we stuck by him, it was the decent thing to do. And ignoring his right foot, his left foot was able to pick passes that most prem midfielders couldn't dream of. That's the sort of thing you can teach to youngsters.

In short, I'd have him! I imagine he'll play on mind for another season or two. Even if it's L2, I doubt he'd want to end his career now; not playing due to his illness then retiring would be a blow to any player. If I were the Newport manager, I'd be on the phone already...
