Nothing like getting a good German beer down you and dancing to trance and techno mate! Germany is where I shall be heading upon graduation.

Mate, not been to Berlin for a couple of years but was in Munich for the last Beer Festival and I couldn't help noticing how much the beer had gone up in price. Outside the festival a glass (not a Stein) was around 7 Euros, although there were offers at the event itself

I visit Germany regularly (usually on motorbike trips) and on the whole it has become a very expensive place to visit, so just beware

Berlin is bigger than you would imagine and Prenzlauerberg was the area we ended up in. Great pubs/clubs and a very friendly atmosphere so long as things remain jovial. English is spoken (certainly better than my German ) widely, although occasionally you will meet a North Walian type who thinks it's funny to pretend not!

Went to Berlin last year. If you stay away from tourist bars the price is about 6 Euro for a nice large beer, or if you are willing to get deep into old east Berlin as I did 4-5 Euro.

Tourist bars and areas as you would expect add another euro or two.

Tresor and Watergate were my pick of the clubs personally.

I was told at Bergain (trying to get into panorama bar) that it was "not for me" by a rather menacing skin head tattooed bouncer. I'm a skin head tattooed Welshman but didn't argue as the industrial unit around Bergain is the perfect area to dump a dead body.

Went last year for a stag around this time.. Had a quality time. Great city and decent people. We jumped on a bar crawl which was pretty good. The crawls was very tourist based..... Mainly beautiful aussie girls!!!! Got a free shot at everybar and the prices were not that bad!

I went a few years back. Really enjoyed it. Went to the olympic stadium where you are just free to wonder about as you like.

Beer is decent but like whats already been said if you turn up outside the Branderburg gate and get a beer and a curryworst your looking at the best part of 10 Euros maybe more.

More reasonable the further out you go.

Berlinerkindle (sp?) was the stuff I was geting down my neck. Its was pretty decent.
