OUR CLUB AND SAFE STANDING

Mon May 06, 2013 12:13 pm

Just read a report the club has put together and sent ot to all relevant parties such as the league, the police the council licencing depts etc and relevant fan groups and i see it has a real positive move by us.

A lot of the report is business type jargon, but hopefully these groups will back our club in allowing the arrangement we have in allowing standing in the Canton section, I think if they can prove it benefits other areas of the stadium by allowing people who want to stand in an area allocated to do so, it helps stop problems in other areas where some want to sit but have their view blocked by some standing in front of them.

It is an awkward one and hard to please everyone, but at least having a dedicated standing area if granted will be a move forward.

I just hope the league etc. support our clubs move and it can give our fans the chance to watch the game from their desired vantage point whether standing or sitting, the worry is if the League turn it down, they could rigidly enforce the no standing anywhere ruling and the chaos continues.

I am sure next year they will be watching us like hawks and we will be examined like no others, we have moved on as fans and we should be proud of that, but some people still need convincing. :ayatollah:

I can understand why the Hillsborough families would be against Safe Standing.

But Safe Standing it not terracing. You have a seat, a ticket with a specific allocated area just the ability to stand, and more of you in a row. Fully support this :ayatollah:

I know it wont happen, esp now due to rebrand but I wish ccfc would do what Dortmund do in their "yellow wall" stand. Must be wearing club colours to go in there. It looks fantastic

Don't understand why the Hillsborough family's would be against SAFE standing, Surley it will be a massive step forward in modern football? I don't think there has been problems in Germany with safe standing, Hopefully if we do get safe standing at the CCS it will bring back some of the hardcore City fans back? It'll be great to have the mix of young and old under 1 roof supporting our beloved Bluebirds! :ayatollah:

You have to understand the German mentality. This is a nation where people won't cross the road on a pedestrian crossing unless the "green man" is on, even if there are no cars for a mile in either direction! If you tell them to stand in one spot for 90 minutes, then they will do so. I'm not sure whether some of our supporters can follow instructions that are as complicated as "stand in your own space"!

So much of this nonsense can only be challenged with evidence based results, but unless you can establish the evidence which they wont let you do, how do you move on? :old:

Would be great if our club pioneered this in the premier league.

Whilst I agree that plenty of the British population is moronic when it comes to common sense and doing as they're told, evidence of such seen on construction sites every day which is why we are now invaded by H&S Nazi's, the majority of the British population should not be punished for that.

It could all be sorted easily enough but it won't because the PL is a money league and is run on a foundation of money and the Championship is the feeder league into it so they need to get teams fairly prepared in case they go up to avoid Blackpool's problems on a regular basis.

The PL is a money league that has customers. The Bundesliga is a football league that has fans. Massive difference. We will never get safe standing until there is a change on the ethos higher up.
