Will Spew ask Laudrup

To get knocked out of the Europa league early doors?

Looking at the state of Newcastle, who have a bigger squad, the Jacks could be in trouble next year.

They have already ran out of gas this season, next season its Thursday -Sunday every week. Hmmmmmmm.

Come in Swansea. Your time is up.

In our last 7 games we have played Tottenham, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. We haven't ran out of steam so much as come up against better teams than us.

There's no way we will get knocked out of Europe intentionally. We will strengthen the squad appropriately to compete. Next year we will be trying to qualify for Europe again, there wouldn't be much point to that if we were just going to get knocked out on purpose because some other teams who run their club completely different aren't doing well.

Living forever more in the "just stay up" mode would be a very dull and unambitious existence for a club.

1 win in last 9 league games, drawing blanks at home, havent won for 2 months. Hmmmmm.

I used Newcastle as the most recent example but most clubs who are not used to european football
struggle to adapt to the number of games and those with a small squad even more so.

Liverpool only started kicking on this season after going our if the competition.

Besides, if Swansea lose to Wigan midweek they may want to look over theirs shoulder for this season.

Just went through your last 15 games and you have got 14 points... So you are lucky that you had a good 1st half of the season. Well your also unlucky that michu has been scoring nout recently. Long may his run continue!

So to say you have played the big clubs is full of shit! 15 games there and you are in relegation form. Your squad is tired just accept it. If you get through to the group stages of the Europa I will be the 1st down to the bookies to find out your odds of relegation.

I desperately want Wigan to stay up. The distance for Europa games for both Swansea and Wigan as well as schedule may help us stay up next year.

No doubt about it the jacks have done very well to maintain their premier league status but the Europa cup may be far too early in their development.

Its not the games time its the travelling that kills you.

Yes as I said its been an incredibly hard run of games and have played teams that are simply better than us. No great shame in that and you wont hear many of us pretending to be better than the likes of Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea or Spurs. you will get used to it quickly next year.

I seriously don't think European football is the hindrance you are making it out to be, competition is the lifeblood of a football club. Usually a team competes in their league and targets a cup competition. We won a cup competition this year already and are looking good to finish in the top 10.

The Europa league will however take priority over the FA cup and league cup I'd imagine and as I've said we will sign players with competing in Europe in mind.

I think Swansea and Wigan will feel the "Europa effect" big time next season! The only teams that can play in 2 competitions and actually do well are those top 4.

Spurs whilst in the champs league their league form got hit. Whilst in the Europa played a completely weakened team to help them do well in the league.

Liverpool and arsenal getting knocked out of Europe and their league form has improved tremendously.

Do I even need to mention the toon army??

Not saying I want Swansea relegated next season but they will need as many signings as us next season if not more.

Some good points but I think we all know Swansea will strengthen their squad next season they wont keep the same squad , I do think though that the further they get in Europe the further down the Prem they will slide , don't think they will go down though (unfortunately  )

So you disagree that 14 points from 15 games is relegation form? You disagree that michu hasn't been scoring? You disagree that the fact the Europa effects smaller clubs?

Yes we haven't been winning games of late but with Maynard Campbell Helgusson all missing most or nearly all of those games then I would say we did well to finish top without a top striker. I'm relieved we did as well as we did before those games but its been a long hard season and the team managed to cross the line and did it as champions so that's all we could do.

We're as good as mathematically safe this season.

If you look at it statistically, Ipswich are the only team to go down whilst in Europe. The chances of us going down are very slim when you look at all the teams in Europe and where they've finished it's a lot better than that of team in their first or second Premier League season. We'll have a bigger squad and will be able to attract better players to the club.

Added to the fact that there are a lot of teams weaker than us in this division that will stay up and the two teams coming up automatically won't challenge us don't you worry about us, you need to worry about yourselves.

Jenkins has stated we will take the Europa League seriously.

Of course it could affect our league form, but I don't see it doing so to the extent of us getting relegated.

Being in the Europa League will allow us to attract a higher calibre of player in the summer such as Real Betis captain Jose Canas (you can watch him play at Barcelona tonight), and hopefully Lukaku.
