How was he today for anyone who was at the game? Taken off at half time doesn't bode well?

I don't think we will see him play again.

Fraizer looked a lot better when he came on

Re: VELIKONJA

harsh to go of at half time, i am certain if he stayed on and got the same ball as campbell he also would have scored.

To be fair, he was shit and could see why he hasn't played much. Service or no service there is a duty at this level to mix it up yourself and get involved and try and get something going. Campbell did that, he made a good run and got a beautiful ball played through to him. There is the difference in class sorry.

For somebody who had an opportunity to prove himself, he was incredibly lethargic.
I hardly saw him track back to try and regain the ball.
This is probably why he wasn't given a look in.

Think he'll go back on loan to the championship next season maybe.

cant agree ,at no point was he given a ball anywhere near the space and time campbell had.

Campbell made the space himself by peeling off Faye

Campbell is a top striker and made the space for himself, playing on the shoulder all the time and he got his reward. Etien did'nt do any of that.

Maybe its cos he's not reading the game properly, good strikers make there own space.. ala campbell.

Spot on Craig and thats the difference in class between Maynard, Campbell and the likes of Velikonja. In the Premier League we're going to need strikers who can get involved, mix it up, push back defenders and be a constant live threat like Long and Lukaku and Benteke do with their surging countering runs.

It was easy to see today how Malky was right and the fans have been wrong all season, myself included.

Thanks guys, disappointed with how that one turned out. Can't seem him being here next year, a rare Malky dud signing it seems. Got used to them under previous managers!

Dont think he's good enough, get rid i say!

But "we" weren't the ones who signed him. Hope to God the fee wasn't £3 million, like what I read in a story this week.

I personally think he has more to offer! You can't judge him on the games he's played. He just doesn't fit into Malkys current style of play. He's the type of player who plays of the defenders shoulder. I personally think he will come good, although he needs to man up a bit.

If he's the type who plays on the defender's shoulder, why didn't he? As soon as Fraizer came on that's exactly what he did, which opened up space and he got a goal.

So your saying that Etien should have mixed up the play a bit when he wasn't getting any service. Just like Campbell did when he scored?

Oh wait no Campbell scored after one awesome delivery from Kim Bo?

Kim Bo was taken off, there was f**k all service, no decent passes and... Campbell didn't score?

Campbell is quality but if you don't have the ball you cant score simple as.

Don't dismiss Etien after 45 minuets of a poor team display.

Re: VELIKONJA

We could have had van persie up front first half and he wouldnt have scored.

No service whatsoever

Re: VELIKONJA

Sat May 04, 2013 7:47 pm

No service but to lightweight on the ball.

When Campbell came on he dropped deeper and harassed players and caused problems.

There were times where he did but it happened too high up the pitch, he should glimmers of class as in movement.

Sounds stupid but I think he will be good in the prem. He just needs confidence and a bit more strength...

If he wants any sort of chance he has to become more physical.

Not good enough. Would love to give the guy more time to prove people wrong who think hes not good enough but now is not the time to be sentimental. Give players like him time to adapt, 3 or 4 games gone by and we could be in the shit by Christmas.

Send him on loan possibly or sell up and cut our losses. There is no way he'll cope in the Premier League and its obvious he is just one of these players more suited to a continental type of play. He'd do well in Ligue 1 which is about as physical as a chess tournament.
