Spot on. Someone who avoids tax is not doing anything illegal either whereas tax evasion is. Both are still immoral though in my opinion. I hope Watford fail in the playoffs, just what they deserve.

It's not so much the loan rule, more that 2 clubs can be owned by effectively the same owner then channel players from one club to the other. The fact they aren't even classed as loans is the loophole they exploited. Can't blame Watford though.

Subtlety different to the Loan rule for English based clubs where you can only have 5 (?) in any match day squad

Where have I argued? I'm pointing out a posters error.

Someone claimed that the loan situation at Watford was cheating, when it simply wasn't.

Yes, Watford have been penalised for rule breaking - but it doesn't link back to the loan signings. The loophole has been closed now, I believe, so should another team try it again, they WILL be cheating.
