A forum for all things Cardiff City

Some British media are speculating that Queens Park Rangers' midfielder Park Park Ji-sung could remain in the English Premier League next season, despite the club's recent relegation, and even team up with compatriot Kim Bo-kyung at Cardiff City.
"Should [QPR] agree to pay part of his wages, the former Manchester United midfielder would be ideal for Cardiff City, where owner Vincent Tan is eager to make a big splash in Asia following their Premier League promotion," Tribal Football reported on Wednesday.
Cardiff won the second-tier Championship this season, earning the team automatic promotion to the EPL later this year. Kim, a promising footballer with the potential to become as successful as Park, has been playing for the Welsh club since last summer.
The Sun, a leading British tabloid, reported on Wednesday that, "[The] Rangers are also looking to loan out £75,000-a-week [Park Ji-sung] for the final year of his contract" as the team is "ready to allow some of their high earners to leave for free in a bid to get them off the massive wage bill."

He can't even get in the QPR team

Park Ji-Sung will appeal massively to VT because he is absolutely MASSIVE in Korea and the far east. Obviously having two of the countries biggest stars is a marketing dream, in a market that he's already making huge strides in according to one Malaysian that I was speaking to last week.
The Cardiff City brand is becoming bigger and bigger over there and now that we have secured Premiership football, I fully expect Tan to go on an all-out assault to make us as big as possible over there.
Let's be honest, PJS isn't a bad player and was excellent in United's team. He was just in a very poor, poorly run team at QPR and I'd fully expect someone like Malky to be able to utilize him to his best abilities

He would suit us coz we can save on wages!!!! Non need for Kim's translater

Sign him up.
Regardless of global marketing he would be a cracking signing.
Would suit our style of football and has bags of Prem experience. He'll have a point to prove after this season too

Parks attitude and work rate and even his quality wouldn't go a miss with malky. His marketing ability in Asia would help tan and his vision for Ccfc but the massive draw back will be his wages. Unless qpr will pay half of them I don't see us forking out 75k a week for him. Just depends on how much extra income he could bring?

Win-win. Malky gets the workhorse he loves and Tan gets one of the biggest players in the korean market.

Definitely would want him! Ticks the Boxes for Malky and one BIG box for Tan!
Fri May 03, 2013 12:36 pm
I give my consent sign him along with the 57 other players linked

Runs and Runs and Runs.
Not sure QPR had the best out of him really. I'm sure Malky would get him going though.
Fri May 03, 2013 3:54 pm
he's been a waste of space this season, and would come on a hefty salary.
if you could get him playing he'd be a top player, but i doubt he'd be up for another relegation scrap in all honesty.
Fri May 03, 2013 3:57 pm
I would take him, but not on high wages, quite obviously.
Fri May 03, 2013 4:29 pm
Malky get on the phone to Lord Ferggie for a full sp as to why Utd got rid.

Park Ji-Sung is rubbish! He can't get into a premier league relegation side what use has he got here?! He's too old and he's not worth the money. It won't be ambitious if we get players like him

Our two best players this season came from relegation sides.
Park has always impressed me at united. Qpr have been a mess all year with park and in and out the team. I have no doubt next season he will do well at whatever club he plays at.
