Newport County’s CEO Dave Boddy believes that Sundays all Welsh Play Off final at Wembley against Wrexham is one of the biggest prizes in football.

The CEO, who has already brought in new sponsorship and partnership deals to the club for next season said: “Outside the Championship Play Off final which brings Premiership football I believe this is the most lucrative fixture, quite simply it is a million pound game, its biggest prize in football at this level.

“County has missed the Football League status and after a great season are just 90 minutes away from making it everybody’s dream come true. It’s great for Welsh football for it to be an all Welsh final – it’s a headliners dream come true, let’s hope that it’s us leading those headlines.”

County manager Justin Edinburgh insists they are better equipped this time going to Wembley after losing the FA Trophy last term, he said: “We can win this but everybody needs to be on their game, we only need a couple to play the occasion and the task is going to be even bigger than it already is, especially having not beaten them in the League this season.

“Having avoid relegation last term and taken it to the last two games of the season and to turn it all around and be in the Play Off final the season after is just incredible really.

“But we have all worked extremely hard to be in this position and just hope with a bit of luck on Sunday we can return to the Football League after 25-years, because the supporters Have suffered enough.”

Its a shame its not another day as it'd be class to have the Jacks behind Newport and Cardiff behind Wrexham.

It would have been great for them money wise and would have helped them both out and been great for Welsh football.

I hope Wrexham win and then we can make them Cardiff City B. They already wear a close enough kit.

Will hurt Swansea if Wrexham go up and they become the third best supported team in Wales.
