Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay said he hoped to see up to 100,000 fans on the streets for his triumphant squad’s open top bus parade.
The squad ate lunch at top city restaurant The Potted Pig on St Mary Street in the city centre after being invited by owner Jahan Abedi to celebrate their promotion to the Premier League.
Malky told WalesOnline he was looking forward to Sunday’s bus tour.
He said: “The night we drew with Charlton to get promoted was a nice feeling but a strange feeling.
“Then up at Burnley to win the title and celebrate in front of two or three thousand fans was unbelievable.
“But to lift the trophy in front of 27,000 on Saturday and physically have the medals and title will live with me forever.
“I was lucky enough to do a bus tour at Norwich, West Ham and Watford – but you can’t get enough of that.
“I think there will be 100,000 people in the city – I think it will be something we remember for the rest of our lives.”
