I know people don't care about rugby but wales having 15 out of 37 players chosen to tour plus having warburton as captain is another huge boost for welsh sport this year
I would love to see a football version of the lions say once every 4 years it would be amazing to watch as long as it doesnt effect the national status of each nation !
A tour to South America playing brazil Mexico and renting old be one hell of a trip

Great stuff, and a well deserved big representation from wales after the 6nations and before that the worldcup! The autumn internationals were a disaster I know, but we were severally hampered with injuries and the fact we had a new coaching setup because of warren gatland taking the lions roll. I'm probably one of the very few on here that likes both football and rugby, so I can't wait for the lions tour. Will fill the gap for me in the summer while there's no footie. Australian players are starting to come into some good form with there sides doing so well in the super 14 competition. Gunna be a great tour, I can see us winning the series 2-1

Good to see Sam as captain, also the good amount of Welsh players involved with the lions
Tue Apr 30, 2013 11:48 am
Yeah chuffed with the amount of Welsh players and for Sam, though I am shocked about that one as I felt he peforms better when he wasnt holding the captaincy. Im suprised by a few of the selections but overall a very solid team

Our daughter's baby is due in early June, so we're going over to Australia for three months at the end of May, my son-in-law has got me tickets for the Waratah's v Lions and the final test match in Sydney, well pleased

I enjoy watching rugby as well as football.

I hate the egg-chasers, especially the Welsh egg-chasers.

You're right, we don't care. But why are you on here, don't you have an egg forum to go to?

The vast majority of the world are not interested in rugby. That's why the Olympics won't have it! Pathetic sport and I hope the lions fail.

Great accomplishment by the welsh boys, especially Sam. I'm well proud and can't wait for the tour to kick off. With promotion and the championship title, and already with a 6 nations title under wraps, it makes for a good 2013!

Lions tours are full of defining moments in history. 71 tour of new zealand that was loaded with welsh greats like barry john, gareth edwards jpr williams, mervin davis, gerald davis etc the only series win we've had in new zealand. The tour of south africa in the middle of apartheid when the black south african public came out in there droves to cheer our boys on in the face of such hostility by the south african police... We won that tour, also led by the welsh, that tour was responsible for showing the world what was really going on in south africa at the time. You don't have to like rugby to appreciate the importance of the british lions tours. Without doubt, the most famous tours in world sport. And the welsh have always led the way.

Gotta laugh.. People saying "Your right were not intrested". Then why read / post on the thread if its based on a subject that your not interested in?
I would never pay to go and watch Welsh Ruggers simply because I would never pay to go and watch Cardiff/Blues Ruggers.
I will always want them to do well and never want them to lose. In the European cup I would want all welsh Teams to do well, and I enjoy the Event that is the six nations,Although I would never attend or wear a fkn daffodil on my head.
15/37 is a fantastic achievement and I will be watching Skysports wanting them to win.

I'm looking forward to it ! It will help fill the gap while the football season is over as well, brilliant to see the amount of welsh lads involved and Sam being captain.
