Matt Phillips

One paper quotes 3m. I thought it was just paper talk last year. Perhaps there's still something in it

Will be an excellent signing and a benchmark for us.

I remember, also that Holloway said "Matty when he leaves Blackpool it will be to a top four Premier League side". Well until the season starts we are top four in the Premier League. :D

Which paper? The sun throw so many names about that they are always going to get lucky. I think the mirror has the worst writers in the uk, I only really listen to the sport pages of the daily mail online( rest of the paper is garbage) and the times. But being abroad I loathe paying to use the times online.

Not sure on what to make of Phillips though. Definitely a gamble, but think he's like puncheon at saints, and he's supposedly done ok, not saying I've seen much of him.

Daily Mail online. I don't subscribe to the Nazi rag myself but saw a retweet on it earlier

The sport isn't to bad on it. Times football pull out all day for me though.

I think he's worth a gamble. Still a centre forward of the stronger type, centre half and another strong centre mid are what we need for the step up. Don't mind gambles out wide, but have to be strong right through the middle next year or we will struggle more than expected.

Looking forward to finding out. Phillips wouldn't become a bad player overnight but Blackpool are a bit of a shambles at the moment and he definitely needs a change of scenary(with a better pitch)!

We need a target man IMHO and an experienced midfielder. Kimbo, Mutch, Gunners and Whittingham could all have vital roles to play, but for argument sakes, Matt Phillips and a Phil Neville type then we'll have a fighting chance.

Target man though, Grant Holt-esque

I really believe this is why he maybe struggling of late and Blackpool , they used to play decent football but since their pitch is virtually unplayable they have gone off the boil

Yep agree the type we need. Don't know about nev. think his legs are gone since Xmas. Depending on them going down I'd like to see us interested in McCarthy from Wigan, but think he's destined to a big club. And see how mutch does in a better league

Not sure about Matt Phillips, doesnt look like hes got a great attitude either.

If we are going to go for someone from the Championship on the wing I would look at Will Buckley.

Will Buckley is a great shout

Yeah Buckley would be a shout. Depending on how much Brighton would want. They don't really need to sell anyone so could put a stupid price up on him.

Apparently already been here for contract talks

Re: A new(old)link

I went to Brighton v Blackpool last weeks 6-1. Phillips is there best player
Can play wide or Loan striker will def sign for us if Malkay calls very good player.

I'd rather Tom Ince than Phillips

Not a chance. He's destined for Liverpool.

Phillips would be a great signing.

Agree with the above post - Grant Holt would be brilliant.

Grant Holt is a piss head, his Mrs is up north out all the time
My mate from Brighton is best friends with Russell Martin
Either us or Villa in the summer.

Dreadful player, be a massive downfall for a signing.
