Cardiff City star Craig Bellamy out but Fraizer Campbell and Nicky Maynard could play against Hull City
3 May 2013

Craig Bellamy is one of a number of players ruled out of the final game of the season, but there is better news elsewhere with Campbell and Maynard in line for returns

Craig Bellamy's season is over after the striker was ruled out of Cardiff City's last game at Hull tomorrow.

The Wales international is carrying an Achilles problem and is part of a list of players all deemed unfit by manager Malky Mackay and his medical staff.

Mark Hudson will miss out once more in what will be City's farewell to the division before life as a Barclays Premier League side begins.

Heidar Helguson, who will leave the club to move back to his native Iceland this summer, is out with his on-going calf injury, and defenders Matthew Connolly and skipper Mark Hudson will not travel to Humberside with their respective ankle problems.

It means youngster Ben Nugent will line-up along side Ben Turner in the Bluebirds defence in a match Hull have to win to be sure of joining the Bluebirds automatically in the Premier League next season.

But there could be a return for two injured strikers, with Fraizer Campbell recovered from his shin problem and Mackay confirming that long-term absentee Nicky Maynard may get a run off the bench after missing almost the entire season with his cruciate knee problem.

Slovakian striker Etien Velikonja will also travel for the champions last outing of the current campaign.

The final one of the season, 2-0 win for the Bluebirds, Kimbo and Rudy to score :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

Hope we are winning 2-0 when news comes through that leeds have taken the lead against watford in injury time, so everyone can have a celebration at the final whistle. Although I want us to win, I hope hull go up with us! I don't mind hull, not fussed on watford this season

He isn't a c**t so I doubt he'll be doing that one. ;)

He is bound to score though. Last minute winner to deny Hull 2nd place, it's fate.

I agree with this result (with Watford winning their tough game to 'pip' Hull to 2nd spot) :ayatollah:

Play-offs? For me, Watford IF Hull do manage to get the result they need on Saturday (i.e. draw against us and Watford slip up) but Brighton IF Hull are involved ;) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Hull could be without injured captain Robert Koren as they search for the victory over Cardiff which would clinch promotion to the Premier League.

Manager Steve Bruce says Koren, who has missed the last two games with a calf injury, is "50-50" for the match.

Champions Cardiff will name Nicky Maynard as one of their substitutes following the striker's return to fitness after eight months out injured.

The 26-year-old suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay will field a full-strength side against Hull as he knows victory for the champions would boost his former club Watford's promotion hopes.

Hull hold a one-point advantage over Watford, who host Leeds at Vicarage Road.
