Tan needs us now as well

Before getting promoted, Tan didn't really need us. He could have quite easily cut his losses and invested elsewhere and made his money back but it would have been seen as a failure at home where giving up is embarrassing. We needed him at that point to keep pouring in the money and to survive. There is no doubt about that and thats one of the main reasons people let the rebrand go without much of a fight. It was a sacrifice for a greater good.

Now we are promoted Tan needs us as well. Without being involved with us he doesn't get the money from the TV deals, he doesn't have a say in parachute payment money if it happens so for him to prosper and gain from all of that he needs to work with us. Thats the real reason he sort of accepted certain things last night at the awards meeting because he doesn't have as much to bargain with. Of course he's still holding most of the cards but had we stayed down our identity would have taken a further bashing.

Tan's a money man so if he annoys the fan base and they turn on him as a whole unit then he ain't getting his hands on any of it long term. He knows he has to work with us, be clever and then he can also prosper from a Premier League club. He keeps asking 'do I look stupid?' yes Tan, you look like an absolute whopper in all fairness but in your head you're not stupid. You're playing the business game to a tee. Set the fans up for change and then on promotion concede defeat on one aspect so the fan base is happy. The guys played a blinder.
