The players, so different to the nights under Dave Jones, they actually seemed to enjoy the night, they were please to sign anything pose for photos and generally mixed and looked comfortable and relaxed, no rushing off or hiding from their own fans has we have witnessed in the past.
Kevin McNaughton though takes mixing and relaxing to another level, he was just like one of the boys, dancing around singing and a real top bloke, he was still there when I left around twelve, didn't look like he wanted to be anywhere else other than there with the fans, I so hope he gets treated well by the club, he been a great servant and really fitted in and always gives 100%
Big pat on the back for Vince Alm and the rest of the CCSC, we are blessed with so many good people in this organisation, no egos all grafters and fans.![]()

I agree entirely that huge thanks are due to all at the Supporters Club who were involved in organising last night`s event - well organised and ran really smoothly (which ain`t easy when so many are in attendance). And all done in their own town for no monetary reward.
And the attitude of the players and other club staff was brilliant to see as it was obviously so genuine. That goes for those who would hope to be retained next season and those who are probably aware that they have little chance of being kept on at the higher level.
But to say Vincent Tan "came across well". Are you serious? Even a number of his more senior , subservient ,employees were seemingly quite red faced with embarrasment as the speech went on.
His speech was one of the most cringeworthy and poor in terms of PR and sense that I have heard for many a year and a high proportion of those present loudly expressed their dissatisfication over it.Not just a handful , but probably a majority and from most parts of the room.
I am not suggesting for one minute that VT had had too much alcohol in his meeting SH earlier in the day to discuss debt (I hope not anyway as he was driving a car) , but his inane ramblings about "lucky red" and Dragons looking after little Bluebirds were incoherent , based on a total nonsense and only served to further annoy and distance another portion of the fanbase. It was like having to listen to the rubbish spouted by the regular sot at your local pub - you are there for the night and have to listen to it for a time , but you really wish you didn`t have to. Keith Cooper should have invented a microphone fault just to get him off stage to avoid further damage!
From the minute he walked into the room to do his beamback to Malaysia TV interview , followed by his procession to his seat with a fawning group of Malaysian employees a short but respectful distance behind him , it looked like a disaster waiting to happen. And a disaster (in PR and credibility terms) it indeed turned out to be.

All Black Everything. wrote:Tan come across as the biggest whopper in the history of whopperism during that speech. There's not even words to describe it. He's taking about symbols fighting other symbols then states he doesn't know the symbols of other championship clubs and the dragon helps the bluebird forgetting the dragon was on our old badge anyway, did it help the bluebird then? The guy thinks hes playing Pokemon or something I dont even know what hes on about anymore.
