Marco Streller

I would love to see us sign a target man like Marco Streller. He leads the line and links up the play superbly, is very mobile and he's very good on the ball. Obviously as he's Basel's captain, he would be out of our range, but if we are to spend big money on one player, I think it has to be a good target man in the Streller mould who can take the pressure off our defence, hold the ball up, link the play and score the goals to get us results.

Villa splashed out on Benteke and he will be worth every penny if he keeps them up. Maynard and Campbell need someone to play off as well. Signing a good, mobile target man will make a huge difference to us next season in my opinion, as long as it's a target man who can also play on the deck like Streller so we don't have to constantly lump the ball up to him.

I watch Swiss football a lot, Basel being my fav side and agree that this guy is shit hot, proper old school target man but the chances of signing him are slim as he is settled at Basel.

He won't be throwing away Champions league football. I know they aren't the biggest of teams but player from the likes of Basel tend to go on to big teams in bigger leagues rather than your newly promoted team.
