Please Mr Tan

Thu Apr 25, 2013 6:30 pm

You have had your way all season with Ali not welcoming the team as the BlueBirds, But as this saturday is the final home game of the season and we are CHAMPIONS then surely its only right that they are welcomed on to the pitch as THE NPOWER CHAMPIONS CARDIFF CITY THE BLOOOOOOOOBIRDS :ayatollah: :malky:

You don't actually believe it's "league rules" do you

It's Tan's rules, anyone who thinks differently is deluded.

Do you really believe that the football league have a rule in place that the clubs nickname is not allowed to be used by the PA announcer when the teams run out?!

I'm saying that's what i've been told and what i've had backed up (albeit not concretely) Also pretty sure I remember Barnett being announced as "making his home debut for the bluebirds" just after the run out.

But then conspiracies are fun aren't they

It's not a conspiracy. Ali has been announced as "Cardiff City - The Bluebirds" for years. As soon as tans evil plan comes into play, he stops saying it. In fact one of the members of the CCST has stated that the previous CEO confirmed that Ali was instructed not to say "Bluebirds" when Tan and his guests were present (as the teams come out for both halves) in case it upsets him "so as not to inflame the position".

Earlier on in the season he also announced a goal by saying "and the second goal by the Blue.....erm... Cardiff City.....scored by Frazer Campbell".

Now you're just being silly. The supporters trust member was Keith Morgan, a City fan of 50 years, a director of major accountancy firm and someone that doesn't go around making up nonsense.

I wouldn't have gone so far as to compare tan with Hitler, but know you mention it......

im just making the point that 1 person saying it doesnt mean its true it doesnt matter who he is, im just saying people love a conspiracy, you may be right or you may be wrong but if tan was as bad as people make out ali wouldnt say bluebirds ever.

Yet you are more than happy to believe RFMH when he says it's "because of football league rules"?

I'm not saying either of us is right it's just what i've heard from more than one person who i'd believe. Like I say he said it about Barnett a minute after they came out. It could well be Tan, but i'm not too keen on blaming people without evidence. Sensible like that me.

i dont know what that has to do with my last reply but surely same goes for you because a member of the trust heared it from someone?.. it looks like we are at a stalemate.

im not going to carry this on its our biggest week for god knows how long and instead of reading post of people exited im having this back and forth with you, none of us are going to agree with each other, we would all like the blue kit and our badge but its not going to happen

Only just picked up on this thread , but just to clarify.

The question was asked (by me) of Alan Whiteley in a regular meeting between the Trust and the club`s senior management about dropping reference to Bluebirds when the team comes out at the start of each half. It was categorically stated by AW and confirmed by Julian Jenkins and Wayne Nash who were there at the meeting that Ali was being actively discouraged from making the reference because Vincent Tan had said he didn`t like it and they didn`t wish to "inflame the situation". Ali himself has also confirmed this to be the case.

In a subsequent direct conversation with Simon Lim , the new CEO/Chairman ,he also said this was the case and was reluctant to even raise the matter with VT for fear of upsetting him.

As for League rules , there is no rule whatsoever preventing teams being announced by their name and/or nickname (I have just checked direct with the League ).
