Who remembers the away game in Slough

I am sure we were losing when some of our nutters tried to invade the pitch and a wall collapsed causing the game to be stooped, we scored after the restart and won the replay.

They were a good club then and had good players but for the last ten years they have been homeless after their owner evicted them...there is a petition to get them a new home if anyone would like to sign it.

Don't think that was Slough. Somewhere near Reading but cannot remember the name.

Remember it well. Pissed down. We had about 600 there and the team were going through a shocking run of form. Andy Legg got abused a couple of times from our end that day - shortly before winning everyone over

Wokingham, the wall collapsed. Lots of trouble that day.
We scored/equalised after a restart, to draw 1 - 1.

Copper had to leave the force due to injuries, I remember reading some years later.

Wokingham the wall collapsed, but Slough was a bit naughty, we found a pub and it was full of Chelsea, did get a bit hairy until reinforcements turned up, can't remember the score from either game.

Also remember Enfield away, outside it was as if we'd played spurs, Yids everywhere. 8-)

That game went down in legend status with the 5 of us ( receding crew) never been so stoned and drunk ever. 2 hangovers in one day.chased by a mob of Cardiff after mistakingly thinking they were Slough / Chelsea only the driver of the car realised we were in a traffic jam

Sounds like Wokingham, heard there was Chelsea there didn't see any though, can't even remember how I got there.

I was at Enfield and Wokingham but don't remember the Slough game. Both Wokingham and Slough are def. Chelsea territory and they were certainly well represented at Wokingham. Enfield def. Spurs

I'm sure at Wokingham they kept the home fans in until we were at the station, not like most games when we were kept behind while the home fans dispersed.

Defo Wokingham got nicked did not even see the ground, loads of Chelsea. When I was let go Reading station after the Jolly Roger pub was fun.

I was at that game, I don't think a wall fell down though. I was unfortunate enough to be living in slough for a year whilst working at Heathrow. A real dive of a place but was pretty stoked when we drew Slough in the cup and then Reading at Elm park in the next round (was that the same year?).

Was pissing down and the away end was totally exposed. Awful game from what I can remember and I think I we were lucky to scrape a draw. Reading in the next round was an epic night though. Cracking game.

Chelsea were in a pub in Slough that day and then it kicked off when we got back to Reading station. If I remember correctly England were playing Cameroon in a friendly that evening and a few pubs in Reading were wrecked by a mob of Cardiff. Seven of us were drinking at Reading station late on when we were invited outside by a mob claiming to be Chelsea. Stepped outside to see a mob of 30/40.

Took a sharp left and onto the station where we got split up. Had to fake a Geordie accent before boarding a train to Swindon. Not good. As for the game itself, 1-1, Wayne O Sullivan scored and City were wearing their Barcelona style away kit that they didn't wear that often. A few Chelsea at the game and many Cardiff were singing about Matthew Harding's helicopter crash to the tune of Chelsea's blue flag.

I was there and yes the wall at the fron collapsed causing City fans to spill onto the pitch. We were losing 1-0 at the time but I thought it was David Tonge who got us out jail with an equaliser before we won the replay 3-0. Also seems to stick in my mind as the first game that I recall "I'll be there being sung" - and yes there were Chelsea fans there. They even turned up for a later pre- season friendly we played with them. God I feel old!

Yea slough was a bit of trouble with chelsea.

I'm not sure if we had a bit of trouble on reading station with Reading/wannabee chelseas- as a few of us were working near woking at the time and had to change in reading.
there were a few slaps exchanged in the pub on the station.
Cant remember much - we were very very drunk!!!!!!!
