Joe Lewis

Does he have a future at the club?

I was expecting him to be competing with Marshall for the number 1 spot this season, but hasn't come close (credit to Marshall).

If he's to progress in his career and earn another call up to the England squad, he'll surely not want to be sitting on the bench next season.

Should he go out on loan or leave permantly?

We are going to need 3 keepers next season ( most teams have 3 in their squads )

Marshall has been outstanding this season :ayatollah:

If Marshall never gets injured then he is obviously fine as a back up who only plays in cup games but I really think we need a back up that is as good as Marshall. I couldn't cope with another Stephen Bywater type couple of months if Marshall picks up an injury.

I don't. I see him Every home game training, he can't catch, dive, or respond properly. He's absolutely terrible.

Get in Shay Given from Villa if they go down.

 silly wages for a 3rd choice GK that makes no sence

Silly wages is 1 thing,he's past it now as well.
We got 3 good keepers, better than most prem teams in fact :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

To get a keeper who is willing to be a number two, who is as good as Marshall is a big ask.
We have Lewis, who is a good keeper, who had plenty of practice at Peterborough ;)
I think he will do a job for us in the EPL if needed.

i agree...

look what happened the last time we had two good keepers, when we had heaton, it was swapping and changing and it made us lose the stability. since marshall has been firmly number 1 look how excellent he has been.

lewis is good enough for a number 2.

Some people undersetimate the work the reserve keepers do on the training pitch. Marshalls outstanding form could well be down to Joe Lewis pushing him every day in training.
Tom Heaton was a good keeper but wanted first team football which was fair enough,Lewis seems to be happy enough at the moment behind marshy so i think we dont need to look elsewhere at the moment

His mannerisms seem negative, he's a young talented keeper.

I expect him to leave.

I think he expected to challenge Marshall this season, but Marshallhas been incredible.

Lewis will leave I'd guess - he's good enough for back up for us though or first choice in another championship side.

I'm so unsure on Lewis as a champ back up so us going up wont convince me otherwise.

We without doubt need another quality keeper. Imagine the worse and Marshall got injured for 6 months. Would Lewis and parish be enough as prem keepers all that time? I doubt it.

I agree he has had a fabulous season. My only concern with him is he doesn't come for crosses but he is a good shot stopper. We need another quality keeper to push him Joe Lewis doesn't do that I'm afraid.

I agree with this, but I think he'll be sick of being sat on the bench come January..
