Quotes from VT's latest interview

Tue Apr 23, 2013 6:45 pm

“In 1927 when Cardiff won the FA Cup they had a dragon on their crest so I brought it back – the national flag on the shirt"

The main parts of the emblem were a goat and a seahorse - shall we have those over the dragon VT?

“It’s not an Asian dragon but their national symbol. You can’t have a red dragon on a blue jersey, so the jersey had to change too."

By his own logic, you can't have a bluebird on a red shirt either..

"I created some controversy with the colours. There was a lot of resistance. Most of the fans and most of the board were against it,”

At least he's realised that... Fans & not customers?! At least he's learning

"The blogs got pretty nasty, but I would like to think I changed Cardiff’s luck."

The only thing that changed Cardiff's luck was CT's money. If you are seriously suggesting that the Red is the "luck" then you are seriously delusional.

He is delusional. The guy knows nothing about football, comes out and says red symbolises luck then we go win the league, imagine what that is going to do to his ego.I dont like to think what hes going to come out with next

Fair play to him, trying his best to honour our tradition before we were rebranded and lost the dragon. :ayatollah:

He didn't want the bluebird, we did, he put on there to appease us. :ayatollah:

Is that a positive off Chuckles, and yes he is learning and at an astonishing rate, he got us up in two years where many others have failed. :ayatollah:

Don't know who CT is, but whilst not being the slightest superstitous, if the red was part of the package to invest, and the investment is what got us where we are, then yes it is lucky, lucky we accepted it or we would never have got here, in fact we'd have been lucky to still be trading. :ayatollah:

Wait ... Chuckles, are you suggesting you don't like Tan or the Rebrand? :o

If only you had told us earlier

Nothing to do with luck/lucky red whatsoever. That same squad would have been promoted had we been wearing blue & anyone who thinks otherwise is just as delusional.

And you think we would have had the same squad without Tan's full backing, if anyone is delusional, you need to look in the mirror.

Where did I say that? You're putting words into my mouth.

Nobody knows what would have happened had we stood firm regarding rebrand. You hve your opinions & I have mine. Neither one is RIGHT though.

If anyone believes that the playing squad would not have got promoted wearing blue is delusional - which is what isaid originally. Don't twist things to suit your agenda.

The main part (the centrepiece) of the badge we wore in 1927 was most certainly the Dragon :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Now that we've got it back in the heart of our badge, we've won our second major trophy as well :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I'm not a believer in luck, but we certainly do better when we've got a Dragon as the main part of our badge :ayatollah: :malky: :malky:

Re: Quotes from VT's latest interview

There is no way that VT is delusional and any intelligent poster would know this.

VT has a belief in the "Power" of the colour red because of his ethnic origin, chinese, where in popular culture the colour red is consider "Lucky".

Superstitious beliefs are in many cultures commonplace and are in no way delusional.

In my opinion no rational arguement can be made to say that we wouldn't have got promoted playing in blue, but a rational arguement can be made to say MM would not have had the financial backing without the rebrand.

Why? because VT believes in the Chinese superstition that Red is a lucky colour. Delusional sorry no way absolutely no way just superstitious nonsense.

The goat and seahorse were much bigger - shall we just stick those on too? We did win a cup with them on after all.

doubt we would of had the squad we got now if it wasn't for the rebrand, no kim, maynard, Campbell, noone etc

I've got no major problem with that  It would be a heck of a badge then :o

Are you advocating we should do that and rebrand again? I thought you were against rebrands

Did he say anything else? Or is the point of this post to bash Tan some more. The man has provided the means for Cardiff to reach the premiership, when no-one else was prepared to. There would be no more Cardiff without his financial backing.
Dragon, Lucky Red, Premiership Football, is a lot better than Bluebird, Blue, Liquidation.

No, I'm being sarcastic.

If someone is basing the promotion on a colour, I think they are deluded. Ok?

A day in the life of Barry Chuckles.

Wakes up, goes into bathroom and brushes his teeth whilst stating into the mirror thinking evil thoughts about a Malaysian Buisnessman.

After heading out for a few hours he heads back home for some alphabetti on toast..

He spells out the words. "I HATES TAN" with his betti on toast.

When he was out earlier he purchased several bottles of St Tropez.
He now proceeds to pour these bottles down the toilet.

Because he hates Tan.

He goes online and posts various items of anti tan propaganda then occasionally agrees with his FRIEND!! Paxman.

He then spends the remainder of the evening giving prank phone calls to various Sun-Bed and beauty salons,
BECAUSE HE HATES TAN.

Your disclaimer is wrong. No humour in that at all. Just very strange.

If you don't agree with the opinions in the opening post, challenge them. Getting personal just shows you haven't got a valid counter-arguement.

Do you think a very very successful business believes that Cardiff were promoted due to the colour of their shirts over the effort of the management, players and support of the fans coupled with huge financial backing. I think his 'Lucky Red' comments recently are no more than a playful reminder to his detractors, that he gets things right a lot more often than not.

FFS.. You really have no sense of humour do you...
Whilst I do not agree with your post, I have not made things personal.

I'm just not taking this thread as serious as you....

You need to lighten up a wee bit... Maybe you need a hug!!!

We wouldn't have had same squad in blue as investment based on being in red.
