A POLITE MESSAGE TO CITY FANS FROM HULL POLICE

Tue Apr 23, 2013 6:21 pm

This is a circular that the travel group has received from the chief inspector of Humberside police ahead of our game.

Hull City Vs Cardiff City – Police Message

On behalf of Humberside Police I would like to welcome you to the city of Hull for the forthcoming fixture between Hull City and Cardiff City on Saturday 4th May 2013. I would also like to pass on my congratulations to you on winning the Championship and securing promotion to the Premiership next season.

The fixture on Saturday 4th May 2013 will be a great fixture involving two fantastic clubs both of whom may yet be playing each other next year in the elite of the Premiership. This would be a fitting finale for the passionate supporters of both clubs.

The KC stadium at Hull is situated near to the city centre and I expect that on a bank holiday Saturday the city will be exceptionally busy with shoppers and supporters alike, I would advise that you ensure you plan your journey to arrive at the ground in good time. There will be Police Officers on duty in the city and at the stadium that will be able to assist supporters, please feel free to speak to them or ask them any questions. There is limited parking around the stadium and a park and ride service operating from the outskirts of the city which stops at the stadium. For those travelling by rail the railway station is a 20 minute walk from the stadium.

The stadium turnstiles are likely to open at 11.15am and alcohol will be sold in the ground until kick off time. I would ask that those of you, who will be drinking, drink sensibly throughout the day as there will be a lot of families in attendance at this fixture and it is important that this is an enjoyable day for all.

Following the final whistle both teams are likely to want to show their gratitude to all supporters and to that end if you plan to be a part of these celebrations I would ask that you remain in your seat and not be tempted into entering the playing area.

Humberside Police work closely with Hull City Football club to ensure everyone attending football matches can do so in a safe and enjoyable way. This is an exciting fixture at the end of a great season for both clubs and I anticipate a fantastic atmosphere. It is important that the football on the pitch remains the story and that the reputations of supporters and the teams remain intact.

The last time i went to hull the police gave my photo to Cardiff City / Jeff Richards (RIP) wanting my name and wanted me arrested for smoking in the stadium and assaulting a steward. Jeff got in touch with me and asked what happened i told him i didn't know he explained that hull police wanted me arrested for smoking in the ground and assaulting a steward. i told Jeff i have never smoked in my life and never hit a steward. anyway Jeff looked at the CCTV footage there was no evidence i was smoking and the steward i supposedly hit was Jeff. as the crowd surged forward i put my arms up to stop my self falling and fell against Jeff. he told hull Police what i said and they looked at the footage again and was happy to let it be deal with internally by Cardiff City and i would get a ban. I got a five match ban but the club wouldn't be looking for me at home games. :ayatollah: Fair play to Jeff Richards ( Steward RIP) It could have been a lot worse. Don't trust the police they will stitch you up. :old:

Don't trust the police whatever they say.

At Wolves the copper said the bar is open in the stadium. Yeah course it was.

At least we battered them in the game :malky:

a lot depends on where you are - thought the coppers at Burnley were top rate, as they were in Watford to be fair.

Morecambe coppers are a different kettle of fish...

Also coppers are expecting one thing from our fans, so most of them will naturally be negetive towards our fans. Alot of you guys might ave got stick this season too, thats just jealousy as we were the best in the league 8-)
