In my opinion I believe we just need 5 or 6 good players in key areas, these areas are:
LB
CB
CM
CM
Winger
ST
The players that would be top of my list are;
Emmanuel Izaguirre - Celtic
Leon Barnett - Norwich
Tom Huddleston - Spurs
Jonathan Williams - Crystal Palace
Tom Ince(Blackpool) OR Bolasie(Palace)
Kenwyn Jones (Stoke)

Funny how people's views differ but my first target would be a position you haven't mentioned.
I think we badly need a right back.
I would also hope for a goalkeeper.

I don't know enough about finnbogason to be honest so that's why he isn't in my list, but I do believe signing a player like him, with little if not none premier league or top level experience would be a huge risk, one atm we can't really take. I believe jones is the complete fit for what we need, that's why he makes my list
As for the right back debate, I'd agree we may need to strengthen there but I feel LB is more the priority tbh
And I think Marshall is 100% capable of cutting it in the prem, he deserves his chance anyway

This would be my starting 11 to play the first game in the prem(realistically);
-MARSHALL
CONNOLLY
HUDSON
BARNETT
IZAGUIRRE
HUDDLESTONE
KIM
MUTCH
WILLIAMS
JONES
INCE
I 100% believe this team would keep us up, and I don't believe it would exceed 25 - 30 million either
Estimate prices for each player;
Izaguirre - 5 million
Barnett - 500k
Huddlestone - 4 million
Williams - 8 million
Ince - 6 million
Jones - 3 million
This equals £26.5 million, hardly breaking the bank ey

That defence is a poor premier league defence won't be good enough to keep us up imo

We may have to look into the international market, which is highly competitive such as the Dutch League and German Bundesliga due to some players being overpriced in the home market. But we must avoid the smalled European leagues such as Slovenia and Slovakia (the signings of Kiss and Etien) have showed these leagues are not competitive enough. For me the likes of Henriksen, Gudmundsson and Finnbogason could be ideal.

Ask Tan to chip in for Bale
Mon Apr 22, 2013 4:44 pm
Didn't realise how lethal Finnbogason has been until I checked wiki, think he'd be a great buy if he could adapt to the Premier League unlike Assaidi, Afonso Alves etc...

Izaguirre, now there's a player! He'd provide excellent competition for Taylor. Sign him up Malky!
Mon Apr 22, 2013 5:14 pm
It's essential we bring in:
RB, CB, CB, CM, RW, LW, CF. We also need a goal scorer.
Nicky Maynard hasn't proved himself, Fraizer Campbell may be fine but he's unlucky with injuries. Joe Mason is a good player but he need's to improve his strength. I'd put Rudy Gestede on a season long loan at a lower championship team to improve his game.

Put the vast majority of wedge on buying Bolasie.
Mon Apr 22, 2013 5:45 pm
Rb= Phil Neville
Cb= Rob Huth
Cm= Huddlestone
RM= Phillips
St= John Walters
Can't be any more than £25m!
Marsh
Nev
Huds
Huth
Tayls
Bellers
Mutch
Gunnar
Kimbo
Phillips
Walters
I think thats strong. Walters often differs every game, Campbell and him rotate and we can easily achieve up to 14th!
BELIEVE!
Mon Apr 22, 2013 5:47 pm
Wont get Huddlestone. He changed the game for Tottenham yesterday. Ran the midfield, i think he'll be getting a look in next year. Not a bad list otherwise!

Shows you can't judge player! Puts the odd 7/10 performance in a Scottish Pub League

No, he's a good player regardless of him playing in the SPL.
