I have heard of this black box which I am seriously considering getting installed to lower my premium. Does anyone have any quotes? Ideally I don't want to be paying more than £1.5k a year, even then I am pushing the boundary!![]()
Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you!

What you've got to remember is that the insurance company isn't just covering your car, they're covering you, so even if you're pootling along in a £500 cortina you can easily smash into a car worth £40-£50k and cost them a pretty packet!

Remember through that many price comparison websites are owned by a typical insurance company anyway so their own insurance quotes always come up cheapest when that may not be the case. For example I think its GoCompare which is owned by Admiral who also own Shelias wheels, elephant and many others which are under the same umbrellea

Personally if I had my way I'd up the driving age for boys to 21. They are no where near mature enough at 17. At that age they are out playing with their toys, that's why they stick those noisy exhausts on the cars so they can go Brooommm.... Broommmm... everywhere.

As long as your parent drives the car every now and again I don't see any reason not to. Then if you're in an accident, you're the driver so it shouldn't effect their no claims. I did it 10 years ago and I had a 1997 106 insured for about £800, third party fire and theft. As the main driver I was looking in excess of £1500. Unfortunately young male drivers are deemed to be the most risky so the insurance is higher. I can see why though, I crashed 3 times in my first couple of years!

I'm going to tell you what pisses me off with comments like this. You're just being a stereotype and comparing the minority of people like me who just want a car to get around, to make life easier compared to the dick heads who like you said "drive like arseholes"
