Something for the older fans

Sun Apr 21, 2013 10:00 pm

Feeling a bit nostalgic.

Get goosebumps everytime I watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvQ-q4Ep6_o

What was it like watching City through the old times? E.g. Robin Friday era, promotion in 1960, Toshack days, beating Madrid, promotion in Scunthorpe '93 etc... I'm almost 17 and wish I was around to witness those.

Some brilliant memories, I'll get to say the same to my kids/grandkids. :ayatollah:

Those were the days, i remember being there at Scunny in 93 and all i can is i was proud to be a bluebird! All our fans behaved and we achieved promotion! Robin friday was a top quality bloke and all he did for Cardiff was fantastic! And for Toshack, oh what a man he was

I just believe that we should support our new owner! I was devastated when it was passed that we would change our kit to red as ive always watched cardiff in blue but if it was for the best it was for the best! Hey we changed to red and we went up, maybe the blue wasn't doing us any favours? :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

There's no prouder Bluebird than me, and I was there for most of those games, I juts happen to love the club and put them first over my own personal choice, and the club for the moment happen to play in red most of the time, but I have seen them play in dozens of colours designs shades with different badges at different stadiums, and they still my team and are still Cardiff City, the Bluebirds. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

There were some scary games in those days. I started going to the City at the age of 8 in 1968 and we stood either behind the goal in the Grange End or in the Bob Bank.

Nearly every game then there were huge punch ups mainly by the City fans making their way around from the Grange End to the visiting fans at the end of the Bob Bank. Must say though that there was a great atmosphere then when everyone was standing. I stood in the Real Madrid game but did not see a lot from the Bob Bank !

Gutted when City sold Toshack and did not make the top Division. The time has now come. :malky:
