Scots papers now reporting on Ledley.

If he's on around 35k Id say no.

Celtic would have a cheek to ask £4 million for him bearing in mind they had him for free!!!

He also signed a 4 year deal with them at the end of the 09-10 season so he's only got a year left on his current deal unless he signed an extenstion

Re: Ledley

Decent player but I think we should be going for a better quality player if we are to stay up next season

He is nowhere near good enough for the PL.

StT.

I think he would get into most 'average' premier league teams who stay up on a regular basis like Fulham, Norwich, Stoke on so on.

The Premier League has many 'average' teams in it and to stay up you just need to get results from those teams alone.

I think he would do a decent job in the Premier, would pay in the region of 2 million i know he went for free from us but that is the nature of the football transfer merry go round,be a good signing especially if we could get him for around 20k pw.

Gone backwards over the last few years, too lasy for a MM team. If he wants to get back close to home he might get a bench start at Bristol City.

Re: Ledley

Left us on a free,no way should our club pay a fee for him!Matthews on the other hand was virtually shown the door by DJ,i'd have him back.

Mutch, Whitts, Gunnar or Kimbo - Who do you drop ?

Just a Cardiff born Cowie to me, runs around a lot, probably got a better shot but definitely a poorer passer.

Wipe the Cardiff boy bias away and he is a rotational squad player at best.

ledley has improved hugely since he left... wouldnt pay 4mil though...

i agree, teams in 8th-14th have only won around 5 or 6 games at home and fewer on the road...

His performances in the SPL, Champions League and Internationals have proved that he's actually developed as a player. He'd be a good addition to our squad and would do well in the PL

Re: Ledley

A no from me, we must be looking for better not more of what we have.

Re: Ledley

A definate no no! I remember watching Joe as a kid down Fairwater and he stood out back then, however he didn't quite achieve his potential in my opinion! Hes definately not worth £4m , which could be spent on someone like Brunt from Wba , Osman or even Cabaye

Re: Ledley

Sun Apr 21, 2013 10:43 pm

No better than what we already got imo

Brunt's contract is up in the summer so he won't cost anything to whoever he joins.

I can't believe you guys, IMPROVED ? he's crap playing in a one team league. Whitts would score 50 goals a season.

Crap I tell you, just CRAP.

It's this little thing called 'experience' I'm not sure if you know what it is. When you play football for a long time, you get footballing experience. He was great in a midfield against the likes of Iniesta, Xavi and Fabregas and proved that wasn't just a cheap SPL player.

But yeah, anyone who coems from the SPL is crap right? Despite the high abundance of former SPL players in our team and the Prem League.

(You made your bed...) ;)

I think anyone who ignores the quality of a player because they're bitter towards him leaving after not being offered a new contract needs to take a good hard look at their lives.

Then again, why sign players from leagues like the Netherlands, Belgium or any other non-world class league, because they're so crap and good players only come in the top 4 leagues right?

You need to learn up about football and stop letting your hilarious feelings about Joe leaving you go.

Just your opinion (like the rest of us) mate ;)

I doubt you have the years of watch City that some of us do and let me tell you here and now that Joe Ledley played a cunning game with regard to a new contract in his final year. I don't actually blame him for that (he is in a mercenary business) but I do disrespect the 'way' he did it and the negative impact it had on the club at that time

He may have won a couple of foil-covered chocolate SPL Medals in a one-team league but on a purely fottballing front I (honestly) belive he isn't (a) Premiership standard, and (b) a Malky type of player, so hopefully that means it is, as I suspect, paper talk :ayatollah:

Gunter apart, I can't think of another player in recent years who disappointed me so much in the manner of his leaving and/or his comments afterwards :(

Mind you, as I said, only my opinion (although it does appear to be shared) :laughing6: :ayatollah:

BITTER TOWARDS HIM LEAVING??? YOU COULDN'T BE FUTHER OFF THE MARK IF YOU TRIED!!!!

Im glad he fooked off

Re: Ledley

Mon Apr 22, 2013 4:44 pm

I think its another clear case of his agent trying to "engineer" a move for JL.

I would have him back as a squad player no problem, but for £3/£4 million???? No chance!

Re: Ledley

Mon Apr 22, 2013 4:47 pm

ledders himself knows no-one will go near him, so him and his agent will start crap like this so he can get back home! I can garentee something, if and when he leaves celtic I bet he won't be going to any prem or championship club, he'll be playing for bristol rovers or forest green with the rest of his shit friends

Re: Ledley

Mon Apr 22, 2013 4:50 pm

No way, definitely wouldn't want him back. Adam Matthews on the other hand, definitely!
