" TODAY AT BURNlEY I HAVE TO ADMIT "

Sat Apr 20, 2013 3:38 pm

To me, best day of this season, way above the Charlton game, I really felt proud today, our fans sang for nearly 90 mins of the game, felt like the old days, but this time, We won the biggest trophy in my life time. Thank you Malky and our team and for 20 mins after the game for celebrating with us.

Premiership here we come, The Mighty Bluebirds are coming, the Blues have gone up as Champions and I am so glad I was there to witness it and sing my heart out. :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

I nearly never went today, as the red stuff has hurt me so much, but I am so glad I did. :ayatollah:

I hope our loyal fans who have followed our club for years and some of our new passionate fans who also sing their hearts out and are not new happy clappers get tickets for away games next season, as the away games are what I love about Cardiff City .

Yes yes we are Champions, loved every minute of seeing the Mighty Bluebirds become officially Champions of the Championship, 41 years of supporting Cardiff City and the first Major Trophy, We have won in my time YES. On way home now from Burnley.
:ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

" Fantastic to see our fans coming as one at Watford and again today singing The Blues are Going Up "

The Blues are finally up,Man Utd here we come. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Annis support today was fantastic and we could hear you throughout the game well done to each and everyone who made the trip.

What a terrific season we have had its just a shame the rebrand has marred a superb season for us. We have had our years of piss poor performances over the years but this year we go up as CHAMPIONS :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky:

I will never let the red spoil it for me no matter how much I hate it.

Loved this season, a great bunch of players and proud to say I supported them all season.

So many people on my FB have said they wouldn't go again but have, others have not gone all season and ridiculed others who have because of the rebrand then uploaded pictures of themselves on the pitch v charlton.
Whatever colour I'm proud of the team and loved this season :ayatollah: :malky:

Well Luke, its hurt many and everyone should respect each others decisions and opinions.
Its hurt me beyond, badge and colour, but after so many years of following City, I couldn't just walk away. :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

Annis you know me, I'll never judge anyone I don't care what others do really, I just do what I do and enjoy it for myself.
You like many other have supported the club all season and we have all enjoyed it despite hurting about the colour change.

What I don't like is people who have a go at others and ridicule them for months for supporting the team and then I see them uploading picture v charlton of them on the pitch.

Anyway this is a positive day, if fans want to come back brilliant just hope they don't ridicule others :malky:

I have waited too long - I loved the singing the standing on the seat the togetherness, in a bit of a shit hole really; we barely missed a beat when they scored and applauded their goal, their mob could not get near us all afternoon.

My dad would have loved it,wish he'd been there today - but he would have been the only 100 year old there! :old:

Annis, sounds like you had a good day.

I assume you were in high spirits when you labelled the championship trophy a "major trophy"? :laughing6:

Talking of new fans, it was lovely to look across and see my 11-year old and his mate singing their hearts out - just one of many things which made me proud today. Our fans together as one, no bitching or whinging about kit colours, singing non-stop, respect from and to the Burnley fans outside the Park View clapping and cheering us off, also wasn't it nice to do it -in a traditional ground, on TV and with the 'hard core' (i.e fans who will get up at 'stupid-o-clock to see us play when they could have had a lie-in and watched it in the pub or at home on Sky) there.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :malky:

definately a fitting way to win it, being away from home. Those fans deserved it today. Not that I was there, respect the ones that got up early, sounds like they had a day to remember forever. :ayatollah:

Laugh all you want, to me its a major trophy as big or even bigger than the league Cup you Jacks just won.

Annis, I was being outvoted on the bus when I said the FA Cup was bigger than this, most thought it was our biggest trophy ever. personally i think it goes - Prem/FA Cup/League Cup/Champ/L1 etc.. and that football is all about winning trophies - the honours list. But in terms of what it means to our club long term I can see the other view. Also its such a marathon to be tested of 46 games without a weak team in the league I don't think it should be underestimated. 9 months ago there was talk that this would be the toughest league ever with 3 relegated teams keeping the majority of their squads and in some case strengthening (Mills-Bolton, Rhodes,King, Best etc.. Blackburn) - virtually all the other teams strengthened from last season, including 2 of the promoted ones and Charlton had come up with a huge amount of points and were an outside bet too. it's worth looking back at the pre-season reviews and not be put off by the fact that surprise teams (Hull should not be a surprise- they finished last season strongly and strengthened both in the summer and in Jan) have done well.

As for Paxman he is a sad shit-stirring knob, so ignore him, he'd love to spoil the moment.

This should have been the OP a far better post. As pointed out a million times we support Cardiff City not the colour. Only the players are forced to wear red, we the supporters don't have to and the thought you are more passionate because you do-not oppose the rebrand is totally preposterous.

Further it is time to stop stigmatising fellow Cardiff City fans by using phrases such as “happy clappers” “sell outs” etc. as it achieves absolutely nothing.

If there are fans who want to prove how ‘passionate’ they really are then sing for a whole season and not just when promotion and a Championship has been achieved. Some of the nonsense posted on here at times defies belief

Great day for guys like yourself who have been going for years, I'm an amateur compared to many of the fans there today, living away and playing Saturdays cut down the number of games I've been to in the 35 years of supporting City. Saw lots of old faces there today and felt proud and happy for them as well as myself and my mates and son.
