Aaron Ramsey

Would you welcome him back if Malky tables a bid for him?

Do you think he would fit in?

I'd be disappointed if we paid his £60,000 wages. Him and Kalou would cost £8m a year in wages compared to our total wage bill of £20m this season is insane. We should limit ourselves to players on £30,000 to £40,000 a week like Bellamy and Helguson are on otherwise we are going to get ourselves into big trouble again like QPR

Every player next season should have a relegation wage drop, only fair it should be offered in every league and team. One way to help all clubs i say, also to stop those greedy players once teams go down.

A very good idea and one I would agree with but it does limit you to a lower class of player. Ramsey wouldn't give up his £60,000 per week 5 year contract for one that could see him on £15-£20k a year later in the championship. We would then be limiting ourselves to players who are not wanted by any established premier league clubs. I'd be happy doing this but I think some supporters are expecting us to bring in the sort of players that teams like Everton or Spurs could bring in eg Ramsey but we just aren't going to be in the same league as them in the transfer market.

Ramsey has had a good season with Arsenal and I doubt he gets sold/loaned next year after such improvement.

Well they are deluded then

I would spend a bit more on a player like him and build the team around him... just my opinion.

Re: Aaron Ramsey

I'm not deluded and I think Ramsey would be at the top end of our market. He might of had a good season at Arsenal but he's not a happy man there at the moment.

As for bringing in players that Everton do, I think it's a possibility because Everton are skint and Moyes & his scouts works wonders bringing in quality players for pennies from under the radar!

Re: Aaron Ramsey

Spurs are a top top team.
But I think we could mirror what Villa have done with Benteke, what Everton had done with Cahill Baynes etc and what Swansea have done with Michu & co.
It's not unrealistic. Who would of thought those player's mentioned above would have been the gems there were

You are deluded if you think we are competing with Everton in the transfer market.

Everton are skint, that is why they want a new owner to push them on

Re: Aaron Ramsey

Everton aren't big spenders in the transfer market but they can afford to give players a long term contract on good wages without the need for a relegation clause which was my point about who Ramsey would be able to move to.

Baines and Cahill were highly regarded before they went to Everton so they weren't surprises like Michu. I'd put Benteke in the same sort of club as Cisse, both bought from European leagues for about £8m who may or may not have been a success in the premiership. They aren't cheap bargains and they are a bit of a gamble, for every Benteke there is a Kezman.

I didn't say we were competing with them. All I said is that we can attract the players like they have. Players under the radar/hidden gems etc.

Re: Aaron Ramsey

Goodison only holds about 10,000 more than us at present we will expand they have to build a new stadium, our chairman's f*cking minted, they are skint, their top players will leave in the summer we will strengthen so I believe that a club like Everton are there for us to surpass in the next three seasons, I honestly believe wages will not be a problem for the right player.

As for Benteke he wasn't regarded to be as good as Cisse and many others. Michu was highly rated in Spain, he smashed the goals in over there!

Baines played in the premier league for two season before joining Everton and was seen as one of Wigans best players. In terms of Michu I just meant a surprise in the way he came straight into English football and was a success where as Cahill and Baines weren't a surprise in terms of how well they performed straightaway when they joined Everton.

I agree with you on Benteke, spending £7m on someone who scored 19 goal in a Belgian season is more of a gamble than spending £9m on someone who scored 22 in Germany but they are both gambles with a high price if they don't come off.

Yeah I agree, but I still think they are the type of players we can attract.
