Championship vs spl

Fri Apr 19, 2013 6:47 pm

If Motherwell win tonight, Celtic aren't yet champions, if we win tomorrow, regardless of hull tonight, we are! How can we be pronounced champions before Celtic, when rangers aren't even in that league. I understand there are a different amount of games etc, but celtic, as the only team that could really win it, surely should have by now?

It's is a testament to our achievement this season for me :ayatollah:

If what I've been told is correct, Celtic have been fielding a reserve/youth side on the weekend before and after a CL game. I suppose they can afford to drop points without Rangers in the league.

The SPL is piss poor, has been for years. The Championship is a much better league IMO, but I'm so glad I'll be watching it as a neutral as of next season

Been watching SPL a lot this season so feel I'm qualified to comment. Affter watching years and years of Championship football to be then watching the SPL was quite a shock to the system. Some teams are awful and way out there depth even in the SPL. Dundee for example are terrible, hearts have been fielding a team of kids all year and Hibs would be lost without Griffiths up top.

Massive gap in quality however there are players who are good enough to play in the Championship but maybe 1/2 players a team with the exception of celtic so not much quality at all.

I still enjoy going down the Hibs though and although the quality isnbt great there's no denying their passion for the game up here. The support is incredible at times.

There's a reason why SPL players are willing to move to the second tier of English football.
