A forum for all things Cardiff City

Cardiff City are considering making ex-Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou their first summer signing after winning promotion to the Premier League.
The Bluebirds sealed their top flight status for next season with a draw at home to Charlton, and manager Malky Mackay has since been promised a £25million transfer kitty to make sure they stay there.
And according to reports in France, Cardiff will kick-start their spending at the end of the campaign with a deal for Ivory Coast hitman Kalou, who is desperate to return to England.
The former Chelsea man left Stamford Bridge to join French side Lille last year, but the transfer has been a failure so far with the 27-year-old struggling to settle.
‘I’d love to go back to England,’ admitted Kalou.
‘I spent six seasons there and I am crazy about the Premier League.
‘Players’ careers change so quickly – you never know what will happen tomorrow.’
The comments come as Kalou’s agents are said to be working hard on getting him a transfer for next season, and Cardiff are believed to be one of the clubs very keen on signing him.
The Welsh club could only offer a two-year deal, but it would suit Kalou whose only other interest has come from clubs in America and Asia.
Kalou was previously linked with Arsenal, but it’s thought that the Gunners have now dropped their interest.

I can see his wages being a stumbling block tbh.
We don't want to "do a QPR" now

Silly season has started already

Apparently Arsenal refused to pay his £90,000 per week wages when they wanted to sign him on a free last summer. Think that is well out of our league. It's nice to dream though.

Classic case of player agents touting their players to each and every prem club. Simply looking for an early bite to get the market movin. Unfortunately he has no interest in moving to South Wales!

This would be a disaster. We do not want to go down the route of signing big names on huge wages. QPR have 4 former Champions League winners in their team and that hasn't worked for them. I don't want any big names in our team next season (Bellamy aside). We want to keep the majority of our squad and bring in other players who will give their all. If we are well organised next season and get the better of the lesser teams by giving more effort, desire and fitness, we will be alright. Norwich are the example to follow, we want to be like Norwich next season, not QPR.

I like everyone want to see us bring in quality players ,but not ones thats going to really break the bank.
We have to be very careful with the kind of players we bring in,and Im sure Malky will do his home work on them first.
