Craig Bellamy in tears as he declares 'sky's the limit' for promoted Cardiff City

Cardiff City's Craig Bellamy shed tears of joy after guiding his hometown club into the Premier League, describing the achievement as the greatest of his career.

Enter the Dragon: Craig Bellamy has helped lead Cardiff into the promised land.
By Telegraph Sport.

A goalless home draw against Charlton was enough to secure Cardiff's return to the top flight for the first time in 51 years. Next season will therefore be their first in the Premier League, where Bellamy made a name for himself at the likes of Manchester city, Liverpool and Newcastle.
The 33 year-old returned to his hometown club last year in an attempt to try to help them back to the top stage and, with that mission complete, he is eager to ensure a fairytale season.

"It's just been a tough season, this Championship's just so tough," he said.
"To be on top, to be one of the two teams promoted [automatically], it's just such an achievement for us."

Asked if he had cried after the game at the Cardiff City Stadium, Bellamy replied: "I did, it's been a tough year. To spend it with the people and to see them here today and to see my dad and my son, these are one-offs.

"You probably won't be able to re-create this or get better than this, so I wanted to soak it up and enjoy every second of it. We're going to be in the Premier League. What this is going to do next year to the club, to the city, it's just going to be phenomenal. It's just immense."

The City faithful have suffered play-off and cup final heartache on a regular basis in recent years and manager Malky Mackay says the success is for them.
"I am very proud of the football club," he said.
"It is an occasion the people of this football club have waited an awful long time for.
"There has been a lot of disappointment in that time and the backroom staff and directors here have been through some tough times.
"Obviously the players and especially the people of Cardiff have been waiting a long time to be back in the top division and we've never been in the Premier League.
"They have backed me and the team in the last 18 months and for that I'll be forever grateful. I hope this goes a little way to repaying the backing they have given me since I came in."
Vincent Tan, Cardiff's Malaysian owner, was a contented man as he spoke after the match and congratulated Mackay for his role in the club's promotion.
"This is great, I am very happy," he said. "Malky is a fantastic manager, we work very well (with each other). We have a great working relationship.
"I have a lot of respect for him and he has a lot of respect for me. It's a great mutual relationship."
Tan was key to the controversial decision to change the team's home strip from its traditional blue to red - a move that enraged some die-hard fans.
The decision was supposedly based around the success related to the colour as well as its marketability.
"Lucky red, you know, lucky red," added Tan.

Beller's is Mr Cardiff City, he loves it.

When he eventually hangs up his boots I hope we keep him on, perhaps in a coaching capacity. His enthusiasm for the game is fantastic to see and is evidenced by the fact he still wants to turn out for Wales (knees allowing).

Yer Bellers wasn't the only one to let a few tear drop, I sent my wife and kids down onto the pitch as I stayed in my seat and looked out on to the field of people and seen my little boy with his flag. My mined raced back to my times in Ninian Park and all the old players, and the great & bad times.
I never believed I would lives to see The City in the prem, but to see them promoted on Tuesday & to see my little 6year old boy there was something so special & next to Iolo & Gwenyth being born,it was the happiest time in my life I just stood there and I couldnt stop the tears. A guy looked at me and said , your about my age right ? I guess I said, Yer right he said , so I know how you feel,He then smiled and walked off into the crowed,I just stood there with tears running down my face, My Cardiff City have done it, unfking believable but true :malky: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
