Non segregation

Thu Apr 18, 2013 12:13 pm

Was looking through some charlton posts and remembered others from different teams this season .
Most say how we'll they are treated here and started thinking how long will it be before we have our first full open match with no home or away end ?
I'm pretty sure games like the charlton one would go on with no problems , I would love us to be the first club to integrate this into some of our match days :ayatollah:

Getting a chance to drink and banter with away fans would add to a match experience imo

Nice idea...all in time. It would be great to think we could behave like normal human beings.

Banter to me would be having a laugh with a fan in front of you.....not screaming abuse while being separated by police and stewards. If that's football culture they can shove it.

Agreed, it affects the atmosphere a regional rugby matches and it would do the same to football matches. There would always be the chance of a drunken dust up too so the Police are not going to take the risk IMO.

It Wasn't a suggestion !
It will happen eventually , we have allready moved towards non policed games the next step would be non segregation .
I wouldn't mind it but agreed it might ruin the fantastic atmosphere we have at home games
Many other sports have open stadiums and atmospheres can be amazing , problem is we have dickheads who like you said would start fighting if they saw someone celebrating .its pathetic really !

It already happens in one area of CCS as it does at many other grounds in the country. I was at the KC Stadium a few years back in a section reserved for one of thier hospitality areas, Roger Johnson scored with almost the last kick of the game to give us a 2-2 draw and I was on my feet giving the old MM fist pump. There were also a few other Bluebird fans in that area doing the same.

After the game I spent over an hour in the hospitality area talking with loads of Hull City fans, loads of banter in a really good post match atmosphere. After about an hour I left, walked out to my car and drove home a great day out.

Football is moving on and one day I'm convinced we will see less segregation, like it has on a few occasions in the family stand where there has been no barrier in the concourse beneath the stands, or on the family days when fair grounds have been in the away parking section.

Rivalry, tribalism or whatever label you want to put on it it will always be there but it can just be friendly and doesn't need to result in violence. There is absolutely no reason or justification for that.

don't Fulham already do this?? I'm sure they have a mixed stand behind the goal with home and away fans in??

Maybe one of the Jacks on here can confirm?
