Club Debt

Thu Apr 18, 2013 11:39 am

Long time forum reader, First time poster, please be gentle.

I am delighted to be promoted, however our level of debt still concerns me.

Has VT said any more about 1) Langston and 2) turning his debt into shares?

Last news as far as I'm aware was...

After Langston is sorted VT would move things along with the debt to equity exchange, the Langston deal has been probably delayed by Sam until after promotion so he can get maximum payout.

That's just my view, I'm not at all 'in the know'

Thanks,

I knew that Sam was in for a golden handshake if we went up. Now that we are up I thought something may have come out about getting the debt resolved.

Benefits here are massive to city as we will wipe out the majority of our debt and we could sell the naming rights to CCS too.

Our debt will be one of the smallest in the premier league ,going up is worth 140 million in just one season we will be ok

I don't think its that easy yes the money is going up but so will the player wages etc don't think your debt will be wiped out over night. Swansea will have over £60 mill profit next year if that was the case

I hope so. I'm 32 and I can never remember a time when we didn't have some kind of financial woe, Toilet window exit Ridsdale being the worst I can remember what with all the wind up orders and the robbing of fans cash under the pretence of getting new players.

Onwards and upwards I hope. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

No, it won't be it. It will be up there with the worst in the division, there's many clubs in the Premier League with no debt.

There is however more debt in the Premier League in the Championship, for the reason your debt won't disappear. Teams are so afraid of going down that they spend beyond your means in order to get it, and that is what you will do. Tan has given you £25 million to spend, that will be added to your debt and it will mean that you will make a loss next season. Wages as well are way above what they should be in terms of a percentage of wages/turnover and your going to be paying wages for more than you can afford. Our top earners are on £30-35k a week, that was what your top earners were on in the Championship and I'd imagine that this would rise to about £50k a week.

Your debt will increase a lot in the Premier League, you are not going to be making any money by spending £25 million that you don't have and not selling anyone to compensate for it.

I heard Tan is using the promotion money to buy out Swansea and make them our B team. Could be a rumour though. :ayatollah:
