A new breed of superfan (of sorts)

Wed Apr 17, 2013 11:53 pm

Even in our hour of glory we have some total nobodies spouting the same old guff to anyone who is prepared to listen to them.
Be it social networks or the media (which they claimed as football fans)to hate over the years.

They aren't content with walking away as they did so publicly last summer but they have to tell the world their same old sad story
over and over ever since. Talk about groundhog day.

To me they look upon themselves as some sort of arty farty music fan from the late 70's compared to the great unwashed fans of disco music......... almost "cool" football fans. Half of these idiots still haven't got over the fact there aren't terraces, Ninian Park, Football specials, silk scarves and 20p for a pint.

I say fair enough to the few who became disillusioned last summer and walked away but the sad excuses who still go on about it are becoming a joke. No doubt they will spend the whole summer trying to put down the club at every opportunity and telling us "I told you so."

If those who have walked away 100% why not set up your own forum as well as this and keep it strictly to "I walked away" ......let's see how many of you there really is.

Seems no one agrees with you Mcfail

As for those who want to talk about the rebrand pissing off to another forum, correct me if I am wrong but this is Annis forum, and he will never accept the rebrand. :malky:

I don't post looking for agreement...it's my opinion. Mind you, if I knew there was going to be one poster who would reply it would be you. It's the only thing you post about.

As for Annis......he may very well be against the rebrand but he does attend all the games and I suspect always will.

If you read carefully my post is related to those that supposedly walked away and still drone on about it to anyone who will listen. They all come out of the woodwork from time to time.

I have respect for those that walked away.............and then left the subject alone. Unlike some who are still craving attention.

The first game at the start of season is when i leave this message board and stop reading this and mike morris forum.
I want to enjoy the season and not read the same rebrand shit from this season over and over again next season..

Ive seen posters quote they are never going again ,its not cardiff city anymore , they hate and despise what we have become , we have sold our souls and they cant watch cardiff city in red etc
But have still renewed for next season and the same ones will moan about the same things all next season

Oh my mistake, handing over your hard earned cash to a business is not seen as supporting it Hmmmm, does that mean we can all start buying the Sun newspaper again, even though we hate it. ;)

Difference is, you don't feel the unique bond with a newspaper, that you would with a football club. You could easily select another paper - different matter jus choosing to support another club.

Supporting the club doesn't automatically mean you accept the rebrand.

Handing over cash to enjoy socialising with friends and supporting the team Ive supoported for 20 years is completely different to actively embracing the red.

Why should anyone walk away from something they love if they dont agree with everything that person has done? My missus and kids do things that piss me off and annoy me but I love them so I put up with it. I dont abondon them. Dont mean I dont moan about it though.

Well, same games for City.

Besides, season ticket money, all 8-10 million of it, is loose change for Tan, its the Premier Leaguemoney that is important to him.

But the club has been rebranded and the team now play in red, the club is now owned by a Malaysian businessman, giving him your money to use is surely seen as an act of support?

No I wanted him sacked, which we succeed in doing thanks to some well organised and thought out planning and support, would not have renewed if he had still been there calling the shots after lying to us and shafting us. Otherwise that would have meant I was a hypocrite. Hmmmmmmmm

Supporting the club through thick and thin, doesn't automatically mean you accept the desicions made by the owners/desicion makers.

As has been said, when you were protesting about Ridsdale, were you asking for a refund because you didn't agree with his actions/decisions?

Continuing to support the club I have since I was a young lad, doesn't automatically mean I accept the rebrand.

I dont know about anyonelsde but I am paying £480 to go and watch the team I support, and enjoy 19 social occasions with friends. Thats at the forefront of my thinking, I dont look at it as a cash endorsements of a red kit and Malaysia.

Now if I was paying £50 for a red jersey, well that would be a different story...

Totally agree with this. Wearing a red shirt would be acceptance of the rebrand.

Just my opinion, support to me means even when things don't go the way you want them to, but as in this case it was the best option open for the club to stay in business, even though it was against my wishes, so I supported it because it was for the right reasons, not just for those that suited me.

As has been said, when you were protesting about Ridsdale, were you asking for a refund because you didn't agree with his actions/decisions?

I wasn't asking for a refund, I was asking for him to be sacked.

Continuing to support the club I have since I was a young lad, doesn't automatically mean I accept the rebrand.

Fair enough, but most would see you giving your hard earned cash to a business, would be construed by many as supporting it, but perhaps that's just playing with words.

So the £500 quid is not supporting it, but the fifty quid isHMMMMMMMMMM.

To be honest i support the rebrand, because it's the best option for the clubs existence, but i would never buy a red shirt shirt, does that mean I do or don't support the rebrand, I am getting confused now, who drew the rules up anyway.

yes like many I renewed because it was sold as supporting the club and that money was to be used to buy us players. However it was then proven to be a lie and hence the protest to get him sacked, or even tried in court for sale under false pretences.

How many of those who protested against Riddler have enjoyed the price freeze for last 5 years

If people felt that strongly that their initial money was not used for players they should have deemed that contract redundant surely?
